I don’t love mountain brook – it’s kind of like if the 1920s version of suburban wealth was being devoured by the 2020s version of same. But it’s worth frogger-ing through the parade of enormous SUVs to get to Gilchrist which is a family run lunch counter where you can get a limeade and something good to eat. I’m not saying the BLT with pimento offers any solutions to inequality but it will make you feel alive

What else is there to say? This place is always great! Peak times are a bit of a crunch, but come early or late and there’s no problem. Charge account is a classic diner perk. Kids used to go after school and “put it on our tab”

This place is a gem! I’ve lived in Crestline fir about 17 years now and this place is honestly the best food in the town! The BLT pimento cheese is incredible the best egg, chicken salad anywhere I’ve tasted ! I love they still serve tomato aspic ! ( my grand loved that and reminds me of her !)
