Awww, I hate a not so great review… but i was soooooo saddddd!!! A few friends were talking about this place ALOT l… i tried to go, but they were closed (actually switch locations, n I didn’t know). This was my first time trying GiGi’s but I’ve heard great things so I decided to give them a try since their Re-grand opening. My overall rating for GiGi’s is a 7/10. PROS: the cabbage and collard greens were among the tastiest items I ordered. Cubed steak very tender and seasoned well, gravy was also good, and cashier was very sweet. CONS: I did not like how I couldn’t see my plates being prepared. I was under the impression that the different items would be displayed behind the glass by the cashier but nothing was there. Compared to other soul food restaurants the servings here were small especially for the cost. For example, the smothered pork chops should come with 2 chops for $16 not 1. And I’m not sure if it was because it was the end of the day but the smothered pork chop was on the dry side. The cooks also forgot my gravy for the top of my rice but the cashier was happy to get me some. Gigi’s is also expensive, I paid $77 for 5 plates and not all had meat on them. I would try Gigi’s again but would try other options and go before 5pm.

Solid experience. The food was very good. My only complaint were the sliced tomatoes, which really was diced and mashed. I’d eat here again though. Just no tomatoes.

I was in the area briefly for work and wanted some good soul food sides real quick since I’m doing no meat this mnth. I found this place and decided to check it out. It’s a nice and cleaning establishment. The bathroom was out of order so I couldn’t wash my hands but the guy that was there was nice enough to let me use the sink off of the kitchen to do so. I ordered a large vegetable plate which included mac & cheese, dressing with gravy, greens, and potato salad. I didn’t realize it came with cornbread and ordered an additional one for .75 cent more. It all came up to $12 and I don’t remember the exact change. I just checked my account to get the correct amount to put and noticed I was charged $14.67. Not only did I not receive my potato salad but the cornbread was hard and very dry. The “large” was actually very small. And definitely not worth what I paid. Especially for sides. I could of gotten a fulfilling appetizer from Pappadeaux cheaper than that. I try to support black owned businesses but come on now.

I’m from the westside of town and I’m here hungry. What do I come across this hidden gem Mane let me tell you. I’m so full. Them yams. Turkey leg hitting. Mac and cheese. Hittin!! Cabbage – bussin. The juice was on point. Not too sweet. Just right. Peach lemonade that is for me. I got the Apple pie for dessert. Well I got too full for that but I’m sure that’ll buss as well. Shoutout to the team for comin through on the rainy Saturday on the east side

My second time at GiGi’s and I am never disappointed . One of the best real Southern food restaurants in the heart of Covington, Atlanta GA. Food is very flavorful. This place is family owned. They have great selections. Place is super clean. Everyone wears their mask because their clientele is their priority. Mind you it’s not easy keeping up a business in today’s situation where you’re short staffed and still try to deliver and cater to your people. If you’re in town this is is must go to.
