We found our new regular stop in George West! We pass this town when we travel to San Antonio and usually stick along 281 for dining. This place is just a couple of blocks off Business 281 and COMPLETELY WORTH IT!

I’m a regular at this steakhouse. The entrees have been great thus far. The cheesecake, on the other hand, was horrible. It was overbaked and curdled with a grainy texture and tasted like eggs, instead of cream cheese. The recipe definitely needs to be revamped for maximum flavor. Disappointing to say the least. The chicken Alfredo was delicious and was given a generous portion. The bread/roll was freshly baked, but the cinnamon butter had too much cinnamon. Overall, the food was good and I will eat there again (I just won’t be ordering cheesecake;))

This restaurant was a below average. When first entering the restaurant, we were greeted and told to sit anywhere. When seated, we were not given menus or silverware. We were given rolls and butter with no plates and then asked what we wanted to drink. I asked what they had and then we were given menus. I ordered the blackened chicken, which had great flavor, but it was very dry. The mashed potatoes I ordered for a side had an odd flavor. I did not finish them. My sibling had a steak. Even though she requested medium rare it was cooked almost well done on one side. We also were traveling so we were not made aware the ticketing would be paid at the front of the restaurant. We were just ignored after checked on one time after the plates were served. We had to get up and ask. Then when we paid, I realized it was way more expensive for what we experienced.

Our family had the Chicken/Avocado/Cheese plate, quail, spaghetti/meatballs and the buffalo wings. Delicious food. Great place to eat while on the road. The food came out quick and staff was nice.

Down home, country cooking with a rustic feel. Excellent service and speedy preparation, our meal for 3 was ready in under 8 minutes and was cooked perfectly.

Not very impressive. We ordered fried mushrooms as an appetizer and cheeseburgers and fries for our entrees. The mushrooms were huge and whole. They were chewy and not worth ordering again. The cheeseburgers were ok but fairly small. They don’t serve alcohol, only beer. Our server was pretty attentive but there were only 2 tables to wait on.

This is one of those holes in the wall that you will love. It is our stopping place to get a good tasty lunch. My to-go dish here is the pork chops but everything else looks good. Parking is right in front.
