One of my favorite lunch time spots in downtown because the food is good, the service is quick and the place is always very clean. They have a cold deli with a selection of bottled drinks and small cold dishes to go. The menu is small but this allows them to make high quality meals quickly. The large windows make for a nice ambient lit room to have lunch in.

Food was tasty, but prawns were overdone. Price was high for what I got. Teriyaki was light on sauce, feels like they went for a healthier style than most I’ve seen. Edamame was good, salad was pleasant. Overall an okay choice for lunch.

Food tastes great, but if you have a big appetite you’ll want to grab more than just the normal combo.

Very tasty and affordable. I usually get the beef /steak combo plate. Its really good. They ask you how you want your meat prepared which is good.

I saw the great review about the teriyaki chicken from previous review (didn’t look at the year..oops) and decided to try a combo of beef and chicken teriyaki. All I can say is it wasn’t seasoned well. The meat should taste good by itself and it wasn’t. The slaw/salad wasn’t seasoned well either.

My favorite lunch spot. Very healthy, fresh food. Portions are perfect for me as it never makes me feel bloated. Delicious shrimp teriyaki and their miso soup is amazing. This is not a sushi restaurant – I’ve seen some people mistake it for one. They serve teriyaki bento plates with rice, protein, small cucumber vinegar salad and edamame. It fills me up for the day. Owned by the very sweet and nice husband and wife (chef and cashier). The line cooks are also super nice guys. Love this place very much!

I came here about 2 weeks ago for lunch and man was it delicious! I ordered a to go plate with Teriyaki chicken, Teriyaki shrimp, and brown rice but it also came with edamame and this tangy lime cucumber salad. I highly recommend this restaurant! My new favorite spot I can’t wait to take my family here

Wen and her husband are salt of the earth types who make wholesome Japanese-style set lunches. My go-to order is the grilled shrimp and teriyaki chicken combo — the proteins have a bit of char on them that is just downright yummy.

GInza serves reasonably good sushi at good prices near Jack London square. My friend and I dined here with our buddy from San Francisco. The basic spicy tuna roll was good, their Double Double roll was good if not great. My friend chriashi was pretty good but again not a stand out. I liked this place and would go back. Alas, I’ve yet to find an East Bay sushi place that can compete with what you get at Ebisu, Warakbune, Eiji, or many of the other sushi places in the City. So I would not go out of my way to eat here. I also noted that like many East Bay and Sacramento sushi places Ginza relies on a lot of fried rolls…you can certainly get away from those here but I’ve taken to use the number of fried rolls on offer as a barometer of overall quality…more fried = less likely to be truly superlative.
