Recently visited Gedi Grill in Hopkins for halal food. It’s a new restaurant with groceries and money exchange in one place. Like the overall place, food was good and prices were reasonable. Highly recommend their Gabeyre Wrap with chicken.

We ordered wings and it came with fries. Beautifully fried as well. This could be a meal in itself! The steak (was AMAZING) and rice. Steak was sliced so thin and marinated and juicy. Sambusas were some of the best I’ve had. All the sauces were amazing. And the chai! Very spiced and very sweet and delicious. This is reminiscent of masala chai, so don’t expect a teabag in hot water! Took about 20 to get the order as well! FILLING servings!! And they are open for Ramadan!

Just discovered a new Somalian eatery offering my favorite dish, chicken suqaar in similar quality as Sambusa King in the same city. A bit pricier but I think the quantity makes up for that. The photo I posted is after I already half of the portion.

Craving something different…this place serves delicious food and a must cup of African Spiced coffee!!!!It’s a tiny grill in the back of a grocery store-so surprised it was delicious. Huge portions.

Stopped in for a hot tea ($1.50 shaah Somali, aka Somali chai), which was delicious and an incredible value. Staff was super friendly and it smelled AMAZING, I’ll definitely be back for food ASAP!

The food was amazing. Perfect. Cooked to order and with care. I should mention that prices are extremely fair and portions are generous, but I hardly cared. My girlfriend and I got a delayed Valentine’s Day meal here and both of us were delighted. The woman cooking our food and both of the other employees could not have been more pleasant. I was ready to be impressed and I certainly was. Highest recommendation.

Stopped in to grab some takeout. Meal for 2 was very reasonably priced and we have leftovers for dinner for tomorrow as well. Food was fantastic and the customer service was great. There wasn’t really anywhere to eat there, so be sure to plan for takeout. Overall would highly recommend!

Amazing new restaurant in the middle of downtown Hopkins. Clean and friendly place. i have eaten goats from many Somalian restaurants and can say this is the best one ! .. Super tender and very flavorful. They also have non-somali food as well.
