My parents and I have been coming here for over 30 years. Stick with their signature dishes and you won’t be disappointed. Open tenderloin is always great and an excellent value. Get the twice baked potato and garlic toast. Escargot appetizer is fantastic and not something you will find in a lot of restaurants around here. They even have turtle soup and the french onion is delicious! The wine list isn’t incredible, but the house wine is reasonably good and cheap, and the bar has an excellent selection and they will make you a fine martini. They also stock cocktail onions which is another increasingly rare thing these days but something I’ve learned to love.

Extremely disappointing experience at Garlocks last Friday. While the meal started off promising with a tasty seafood bisque, it all went downhill from there. The salad was absolutely swimming in dressing. So much so that only one in our group was able to eat their salad. I was excited to order the Haddock topped with Parmesan cheese, but sorely disappointed when I had to virtually saw into my fish and found that it was frozen solid. What does that tell you? It tells me that for certain they don’t test the internal temperature of the food before serving. The waitress apologized and took the fish back. By the time she brought the fully cooked fish back everyone at the table had finished their meals and dishes removed from the table. Nothing more turns my stomach than uncooked fish. The twice baked potatoes were tasteless and the garlic toast was mediocre at best. We were charged full price for the fish and nothing other than a nice apology from our waitress. I guess it’s funny that they refer to themselves as a fine-dining restaurant.

I ordered filet mignon there was no flavor, my husband got prime rib it was extremely fatty and the fires where way over cooked burnt is more like it, sent them back got new ones and they wherent even cooked. Called the owner over never even got a apology from him. The waitress said we where aloud to get a free dessert. Well that doesn’t make up for the nasty food and the money we spent. We will NOT be going back, it was terrible!!

Stay away! Over-priced and very blah. Had surf & turf and the lobster was chewy and tasted like it had been in the freezer for along time. The steak was not Choice as every bite was grisly. My baked potato was cold too! Not a good experience!

This place should be shut down for serving such terrible food. We went there last night as a party of four for what we expected to be a great first time adventure and walked away terribly disappointed. That the place was not very busy for a Saturday night should have been the first tip off that the dinner was going to be less than one anticipated. We ordered mushroom appetizers only to be told later that there were all out, the colossal shrimp cocktails were served with small size shrimp and a very thin unappealing cocktail sauce. The French onion soup was about a two on a 10 scale. The baked potatoes were served almost barely warm. The strip steak that I ordered was so tough that you could barely get a fork to pass through it. The augratin potatoes and the filet mignon special with crab and hollandaise sauce were both bland and tasteless and not very tender. To add insult to injury, the prices were horrendous. They actually had the nerve to charge top dollar for one of the worst meals I’ve ever eaten in a restaurant in my life. Our share of the bill was $120.00 with a tip for the waitress who provided great service but was no consolation for the bad experience that we had. We all complained about the food to the waitress and the owner would not even come to our table to talk to us about our concerns with the bad food , nor would he take any money off the charge for it.

Terrible service. Long wait for our meal as we watched people arriving after us served the same special we had ordered. The waiter blamed the kitchen. When we finally got food, not only did the waiter bring out one meal at a time, he left one of our group of four unserved. We had to ask why and he told us there was another problem in the kitchen. When the food came, one of our group was served ice cold potatoes that had to be corrected and the late plate came back with an well done steak that was ordered rare. The rest of the food was bland and disappointing.

My wife and I have been frequent customers of Garlocks for many years. We enjoy the friendly bar and have always been pleased with the service and quality of the food served. Over the years I would rate the overall experience 5 stars. However, our last two visits were a disappointment. The time for our food to arrive at the table was excepionally long. The prime rib which has always been excellent was very fat and heavily grizzled. The twice baked potato was not as nice as before. Both of these occasions were Saturday evenings when the restaurant is usually very busy but on these two nights the dinning rooms were almost empty. That makes me wonder if other patrons have also noticed a decline in the service or food quality at this restaurant. I hope not. We will return to Garlocks but if we are disappointed again that may be our last time.

Good grief… that was THE worst restaurant experience I have ever had in my life… friends do yourself a favor and do not waste your time or money at Garlocks. Clam casino (I don’t even know what it was) was disgusting. I asked if they carried stella…I was told “no sorry” and I was never asked if I’d even like something else so …I had my water. That ran dry and was never refilled. Server raved about the prime rib veg soup so I ordered it… it was stingy, tough ass roast. Definitely wasn’t prime rib. Haaaa… the dessert tray he presented was atrocious at best. 4 desserts slopped on a bare messy silver platter. Would have been better presented on a round dinner plate. Place was a joke…

Good food one time, not so good next time. When Garlocks owned it in 90s the prime rib was as good as Vegas food. Not so anymore.
