I didn’t catch my servers name, but she had dark hair in a bun, and had pretty makeup on. With a mask. She was so sweet to me and my nephew and made us feel so welcome. I thought we would be judged cause we had makeup on but she loved it and even complemented him on his hair! He left feeling confident and I can’t thank her enough! She was so attentive and kind! She came to our table right away and even made suggestions for food since it was my first time in! Marisol at the front was also lovely and also greeted us on our way in and out! Overall great experience and my nephew and I will be back and ask for her!

Our waitress was horrible, almost non-existent. She made 3 smart remarks that there were 2 of us and we each ordered our own nachos for our meal entree. 3 times she spoke loudly of our quantity of food. She never came back to offer more to drink. She finally returned to take a plate. The bill had to asked for. It was a long time before she brought the bill. She said that she was locked in a store room. We asked for a copy of the bill. She said that she had to go to the other side of the restaurant to print a copy. After 10 minutes, we left. On the way out, we looked for her. She was nowhere to be seen. We never got a copy of the receipt. I’ll have to watch for the bank charge to make sure that it is accurate. The restaurant was not busy. It was a late lunch. It was our first time there. It was not a good first impression and will probably play into any possible return. The nachos were good, but service, attitude, attention and saying things that embarrassed us for others to hear outweighed the good food.

My husband and I used to eat at Garcia’s Kitchen on Juan Tabo until we moved to the west side. We went to a wedding in March and Garcia’s catered it. It was delicious. We stopped after church today on the west side location and were impressed with the service and the food. Eric was an amazing server. We asked to talk to the manager, Alexx, who came over right away and we praised her and her staff. She gave credit to Marcos, the kitchen manager and said they all work as a team. I was born and raised in New Mexico and going to Garcia’s was like visiting my grandma. Great job staff!

I know good help is hard to find but the hostess here was 300% more helpful than the wait staff. Many things were forgotten or overlooked. The food itself I’d give a C+ at the most – the salsa tasted like Pace from a jar, and a knife utensil was only available in plastic. Def much better places in town. Thank God for the good hostess otherwise would have given 1 star.

I have no idea where to start. So see the pic for our first impression. I’ve ordered the same thing from Garcia’s for at least 15 years. I don’t even need the menu. The catch, that is at the Commanche and Juan Tabo location. I was told that what I order is not available at this location. Ok, so moving on. We ordered chips and salsa and an order of queso with chorizo. Please see the pic for how our chips were delivered. I asked for no garnish on my order FIVE times. What did I get, a plate full of garnish.

What a disappointment this place ended up being. Our server wasn’t as welcoming as the hostess who sat us at our booth.

Bean burrito with green chile and extra cheese only $5.49. Chips and salsa $1.45! This is where you should take guests from out of town for real New Mexican food.

The restaurant was nice and clean, the staff was really friendly, the waitress was great, and the food was perfectly New Mexican. Highlights: the papas in the two-egg plate, the salsa, and the tamale on the combo plate. Fair warning, though; you WILL need a nap after. Plan accordingly.
