One of the better Korean spots around the area! Soondubu and dolsot bibimbap are really good as are the plenty of banchan. I personally would have liked the kimchi pancake crispy rather than soft but I’d still get it again. The Gangnam chicken was a letdown though. It’s slathered in sauce that was heavy and didn’t let the spices in chicken stand out. The mustard chicken was much better and would be interested in trying other flavors. Overall great vibes. No wait for a larger group on a weekday night but definitely very busy. I imagine there can be waits on weekends.

The food at this Korean restaurant is quite good. We ordered stone pot bibimbap and fried chicken. The stone pot bibimbap was decent, and the fried chicken was very crispy. Additionally, the side dishes were impressive, especially the eggplant and broccoli. It’s worth mentioning that the restaurant was quite crowded, but there were relatively few servers, and they were not very attentive.

Once you enter the building, write your name and the amount of people on the sheet of paper on the left. We had to wait for almost an hour (5 people) but it was so worth it! The food was super delicious, still on the affordable side. I would suggest to eat family style to really try as many dishes as possible! Parking is pretty easy, even on a Friday evening it was possible to easily park. I didn’t fear about smashing windows here, but to be safe you shouldn’t leave anything in the car either.

I recently tried the Tofu Soup and Gangnam Chicken at Gangnam Tofu in El Cerrito. The food was decent and came in a good portion for two, which was nice. However, I must say that while it was tasty, I couldn’t help but notice the chicken’s coating was a bit too thick for my liking. Additionally, there was some confusion regarding the type of chicken used for the fried chicken; sometimes, you get the chicken breast, leg, and wings. Despite these minor drawbacks, the dishes were reasonably priced and worth trying if you’re in the area.

Not a lot of Korean restaurants around this area, so this place gets all the hype and to some extent rightfully so! We have been fortunate enough to pick tons of Korean places where we live(SF). Overall the food is good here and the service is so and so, but definitely appreciate all the hardworking ladies both at the front and in the kitchen. We will definitely try other items if we are in the area again, probably when they are not in rush.

This is THE BEST Korean restaurant in the Bay Area! The food is superbe! The side dishes of kimchee, glass noodles, marinated eggplant, broccoli, sweet potatoes and thin sliced tofu are fresh and uniquely delicious. I always get the grilled se-salted mackerel, which is to die for! Service is friendly and efficient. If I could give 10 stars, I would!

Gangnam is great! We’ve sat down and eaten – fantastic. Taken to go and it still holds up great. It’s so consistently good that we ordered catering style for a party and it was a big hit. We appreciate the delicious food and great service we get whenever we go to Gangnam Tofu House. Highly recommend.
