We were out searching for Orange Stoli vodka. Which we found at Hill Top Liquors when we noticed this restaurant next door. We went inside and looked over the menu to decide on something for dinner. My wife has been looking for a good hibachi chicken with vegetables ever since we left Wilson, NC. It comes with chicken, rice, noodles as a side, a side salad, mushroom soup, and two yum yum sauces by default. There is no to go surcharge. I ordered the pepper steak with fried rice, which was also good. We were told that Chinese menu selections were coming soon. We will definitely be back to try other menu items.

Fuji Hibachi Express is always dependable and delicious. Ordering online is very simple, and I’ve never had to wait on my food past the expected wait time. The lunch portions are generous for the price point, and the hibachi chicken dinner (photo taken after I’d eaten half) is enough for dinner plus lunch the next day. The ginger salad is fresh, soup hot, food delicious, and they give you plenty of yum yum sauce. If you like hibachi, this should definitely be your regular spot!

What in the rubber chicken mess is this….. the smell is so putrid I have to cover my nose. That chicken is not ok. The look is disgusting. Stringy, rubbery, I can’t even describe it. I am so disgusted. The smell on top of it. The rice is hard too. I am so grossed out. Do not eat here. A waste of 28$ and the dumplings were subpar but after eating one and seeing the quality of that chicken no way I finished it.

This place literally has the best hibachi I’ve found in town. I have zero complaints. I don’t usually leave reviews. However, as soon as I tasted the first bite, I had the desire to do so!

Just opened very recently, Fuji Hibachi Express replaced what used to be China Ben in the Vestavia Hills Publix shopping center. It is nestled between Publix and Masaman Thai Kitchen. The new owners put a fresh coat of paint in the small but quaint dining area but otherwise it looks exactly like the old China Ben with 5 available tables. You place your order at the counter then make yourself comfortable as you wait for your food. There is no soda machine. Instead they have a cooler adjacent to their ordering counter stocked with bottled sodas and water. Their food is served in to-go containers even if you are dining in. Each of their tables has a nice fresh bottle of Sriracha sauce. Together with your provided Yum-Yum sauce, you should be good to go if you’re dining-in. The floor is immaculate and everything was nice and clean as you would expect from a brand new eatery whose aim is to impress. This is a family owned business and their children attend Vestavia schools as I had Eric in one of my chaperone groups on our last Pizitz Band trip. I enjoyed their decorative bamboo plants placed around the room.

The workers were very kind and friendly. The food was cooked to order and fresh. The quality of food was also very good, especially for the price. Took advantage of the lunch special and it was reasonable for the price compared to traditional hibachi. Definitely will come back.

Went at luch time. Overall thumbs up. Their drink selections are in bottles only. The service was great! Very polite and checked on us regularly. The tables had that permanent sticky feel to it. I’m sure they were clean, I just felt more comfortable with laying a napkin under my forearms when resting them on the table. Since they opened in 2021, it’s possible they attained these tables from the previous restaurant owner. The ginger salad was good. The soup wasn’t as memorable. One mushroom sliver in it. Basically just a broth and heavy with pepper. The chicken and steak habachi lunch portions were great! The veggies were cooked perfect for me. I’d recommend this place, but might suggest getting it to go if sticky tables bother you.

I used to eat here EVERYDAY. And when I tell you everyday, it means its so good that i never get tired of it and now they changed the management they doubled the price and the mushroom soup was spoiled again. This is the 2nd time they served me spoiled food. They also downsized it with higher price and halfway size of the old soup. It doesn’t taste the same bc it taste more plastic now. Waste of $30. Never coming back again unless they bring back the old cook or management.
