I stayed at the Best Western next to this restaurant and, due to convenience, stopped in for dinner. The Fuel for Fitness was excellent – exactly what I was looking for after a day of airline flights. The meal had just the right amount of ‘heat,’ not real hot, just right. This was my first visit to Fuego – and I subsequently returned the following day for another Fuel for Fitness bowl to take to-go (as per attached photo) back to the hotel. If you haven’t been here, I recommend stopping by. You order at the service desk, receive a number, and then have the food delivered to your table. Service was prompt. The food was fresh and tasty. The price is very reasonable – the bowl of food is quite large – very filling. I will certainly stop by again the next time I visit San Marcos!

Fuego is a fun and better take on your generic taco unlike other similar restaurants. Hands down the Good Golly Miss Holly is the best taco you’ll ever have in your life. Followed by the chicken and waffle taco. Don’t forget you can always get your taco as a bowl instead (this is without a tortilla) but the tortillas here are not to be missed.

Made a trip to Austin from Houston went to Torchys first day in town. Then on to San Marcos to try this place the next day. Came highly recommend from a friend. The food was good. Tacos are huge. Dr Pepoer Cowboy & The hippie were my favorite. They have a salsa bar and digital drink station. The tortillas are the best! Definitely a great variety. Large dinning room, seating outside as well. Drive thru available. 4 people in our group, We each had 2 -3 tacos, Lg queso, tortilla soups, street corn and drinks.

PERFECT is what my 10 year old said. 1sttime ever eating here. Manager was great explaining how to order. You order at the county terminal then they bring you your food. Everything is al carte. This works great for our family because we could split several side items. Tortillas literally melt in your mouth. I had major oral surgery and ordered beans thinking that was all I would be able to eat. I took a chance and since the portions were huge ate half my 9 year old fish taco. Everyone ordered a different taco and it was fabulous. The tortillas were warm and soft, literally melt in your mouth. The meat inside each was crisp and juicy. The fillings were fresh and they did not skimp on the fillings. The portobello mushroom in the cheese dip was just the right amount. This place was excellent and clean. It would put Taco Bell out of business in West Tennessee. Much more affordable than Taco Bell and most Mexican restaurants (we have more mexican restaurants than Dollar Generals) I’d hive this place 10 stars if the app allowed me.

We spent the morning floating the river and were hungry for lunch. My daughter said Fuego was popular with the college kids so we gave it a try.

The restaurant was clean. The food was oversized and tasted good. Chips and blaco queso has a good flavor. Fish tacos are made with fried cod and seasoned good, but has alot of cabbage and pico almost smothering the fish. The tortilla is oversized and fluffy. One taco could fill you up. The shrimp tacos are similar to the fish tacos – lots of cabbage and pico covering the shrimp completely. There is a sauce bar, but I was looking for different sauces other than salsa, like creamy sauces. There is a Pepsi machine that has different customizable flavors, but only one was in working order. The coffee machine was also out of order. Overall it’s worth the try.

Went to drive thru late last night. New in town, and was excited to try it out. They were busy, but fairly quick. Taste was decent, but in all 4 tacos we ordered there were big pieces of hard plastic or bone or something. My friend cracked their tooth on one. Ended up throwing them out. The pieces were big enough for a kid to choke on. Such a shame, as I had always heard such good things about them. If it had only been one, I would have let it slide but that’s just not ok.

This is one of my favorite places to eat and it’s the only late night drive thru in San Marcos that isn’t burgers! They even have healthy options and gluten free options. I love this place!!! If you are a vegetarian try the veggie monster tacos. If you want more protein in them sub the corn for pinto beans. And for wheat and gluten free just ask for corn tortillas instead of flour. They have the very best homemade corn tortillas!!!

I ordered a Carne Guisada with cheese taco. My friend ordered Carne Guisada with lettuce and tomato. The meat is a little spicy. It was very good though!

This was my wife and my first visit to Fuego and we were beyond impressed. We tried a total of 8 different tacos, which is only about a third of their menu. Every one of them was made fresh, delicious and tasted completely different from the last. The restaurant was super clean and the employees were extremely friendly and helpful. We loved everything about our experience and we will definitely be back to try another 8 tacos.
