I stopped here for lunch on a Tuesday and it’s a classic diner, the type of place I love. FIRST AND FOREMOST, THIS IS CASH ONLY! I forgot to check before I ordered and had to run to an ATM to pay my bill.

Owner/Manager very friendly in an introverted way (like me). Small Cafe, great prices. Food is just enough. No need for super-sized meals. Food tasted fresh and is cooked right there, as in all old style diners.

What a fantastic, quaint place! Great food, friendly attentive service, and unbelievable prices! I had the bacon eggs toast and hash browns for breakfast and everything was cooked to perfection! And at unbelievably reasonable prices! (In California prices are about double of Frieda’s!)

All the other reviews are spot on! One piece of advice, get there early for lunch if you want one of their specials. We went at 1:00 and 2 of the 3 specials were gone. We ordered the third, chili. Holy cow! It was delicious tons of flavor and just a little spice. Seems like so much food now is spicy but not flavorful.

We happened to be in Willmar to drop a load off nearby. Luckily, we found Frieda’s Café and the stellar reviews. Not knowing it was cash only, we had to run to an atm, a block away.

I’m a better person after visiting Frieda’s. Seriously. Nicest people you’ll ever meet. Most personalized service I’ve ever received. Great prices. And homemade Apple Crisp! It’s a shame I live 1,200 miles away, or I’d visit every day.

I was watching a Swedish show and one of the characters name is Frieda and suddenly I remember going to this cafe as a child with my dad. I couldn’t wait to get a HUGE pancake and spend time with my dad. I moved away years ago and my dad has passed, so this was a nice memory.

Like it’s stuck in time. $1.65 for a cheeseburger! .50 cents for coffee! And it’s good food!! $4.00 for a double bacon and cheese burger and it’s better than Culver’s! Great breakfast. Amazing pancakes. They only do breakfast and lunch. Cash only. It’s super small so you might have to wait for a table but it’s worth it! So happy we happened to be driving by and decided to go in.
