Lived up to the hype with excellent service and delicious food. Unlike some other tasting menu places, you get to choose individually for every course. With two people you get to explore 75-80% of the menu and that made the whole experience worth it. Staff here were very friendly and talked us through the menu. What took us by surprise is that everyone who works here signed a birthday card as we were celebrating and everyone wished as they walked by! Overall I would highly recommend this place to go to celebrate any important events and to have some luxurious food!

Visiting from LA and Freya blew us away – we just had the ultimate dining experience. Every bite, sip, and interaction w/ the staff was on point to the hilt. The interior is modern, roomy and comfy cozy – the perfect ambiance for dates or dinner w/ friends. The staff is totally into it – everyone is committed to giving you the best experience possible. They are a very tight team. And the food could not have been fresher or tastier – flavor explosions will have your head swaying left and right!

This was an amazing experience. The service here is second to none. First things first. As the price indicates, this is not a weekly, monthly, or even yearly place for us to dine, but it was worth it. The staff worked seamlessly together, filling our drinks, bringing our food, and taking our plates. Our food arrived exactly at the same time, every time. The night started with a complimentary toast, which was a bubbly from Mari Vineyards. We then made our food choices, which they paired a different wine. The bread and everything bagel butter we flavorful followed by a salad that had some many different explosions of flavor. The courses were very unique, and each something neither of us had before or would have selected on our own. The portions were small, but by the end of the meal, we were definitely full. My wife, of course, made better choices than me, but none of them were bad choices. My desert was only better because it was paired with an ice wine from Chanteau Fontaine. At the end of the evening, our coats magically appeared in the coat rack near the door. The staff was always just the right amount of present and helpful. It was such a great experience.

All courses were delicious. I am omnivore but have been incorporating more plant-dished meals into my diet. The vegan courses were as delicious as the omnivore. I’m not much of a dessert person usually but the olive oil ice cream dessert was one of the best I’ve ever had. The cocktail pairing was inventive and fun. The pb whiskey was my favorite. But most of all, the service was impeccable. The servers moved like choreographed dancers. Amazing experience.

Second time I’ve dined here. This time with a large group. Really lovely service. Food and wine pairings were delicious (though the lobster with the Teres Major was a bit tough). A couple of our group did not do the wine and the staff brought them a great mock tail concoction on the house!

We had such a delightful time at Freya. The space felt almost like a modern art gallery. We really appreciated how spread out the tables were and how attentive the staff was throughout the night. This was the best restaurant service staff I’ve ever experienced. The food was delicious but also unique! My fiancé and I each picked different course options so we could share and that worked out very well. The sturgeon appetizer and gnocchi course were my fiancés favorites. I personally loved the Mushroom course and duck confit. The plating was intricate and intentional. Overall, one of my favorite Detroit dining experiences!

Well, it’s a nice place. Lively and clean atmosphere. The food was small but that wasn’t an issue for us since we had lunch elsewhere.

Outstanding from start to finish. Each photo-worthy dish is an impeccable combination of ingredients, flavors + textures. Freya has figured out how to surprise and delight at every turn. Plenty of vegan + seagan options, and a helpful, courteous staff. Also loved the artwork from Denzel Palm (the art changes monthly but these pieces create such a vibe). Between this place + Selden Standard, you can’t go wrong in Detroit!

Me and my partner went here for dinner and it was truly an amazing experience. We had an 8pm reservation (I highly recommend a reservation for this restaurant.) Our table wasn’t ready yet so the host kindly showed us to their sister bar, which is connected to them called the Dragonfly, so that we could get drinks while we waited. They also have a cute lounge area if you don’t want to grab a drink while you wait. Once the table was ready maybe 10 minutes after 8pm, the host came back to get us and sat us at our table. We were offer a complementary choice of sparkling wine or a nonalcoholic option to start our experience which I thought was a very nice touch. We also had two servers who could help us which made our service fast and both were very friendly. After we placed our order for all of our courses, they start you with bread/butter and a salad while you wait for your first course. We picked different things from each course so we could share and try each others dishes. The size of the food starts smaller and gradually gets bigger, the sizes of the dishes are good to make sure you are full but we didn’t have any left overs. My favorite dishes were course 1- oysters (I ate one so fast before I remembered to take a picture) and my 4th course which, I picked the Steelhead Trout(Get it! Truly amazing). The price for dinner is always the same $90 for the 5 course meal and you can choose to add either a cocktail or wine pairing at $50 to go with that. We opted to just order drinks off the menu, which we were happy with. Overall Freya was great and worth every penny, but you will be spending at least $100 per person so maybe for more of a special occasion dinner or when you want to really treat yourself and others.
