Finished showing property in Mammoth, Ash Flat etc and wanted to treat myself! I haven’t eaten here in years. Everything was really good! Fresh and hot, just like I remembered! I had the 21 pc shrimp dinner with a baked potato, hush puppies, Cole slaw, pickle and onion. Sweet tea was really good too! Staff was attentive and everything was clean. I’ll be back for sure!

This is one of the best catfish places I’ve ever been to. The catfish had a very clean taste and the breading is just right. The unsweet tea is excellent.

Food is always good here. Price is fair and portions are good sized. The coleslaw reminds me of my grandmother’s. Waitress was efficient and friendly when she had time to get to us. Two wait staff in the whole restaurant trying to take care of everyone. My wife refilled her own drink once. The reason this is not a five star review was the wait. We waited over an hour for our food. Several people walked out from nearby tables. They need a little more help and this is easily a 5 star experience!
God is GOOD
I’m giving 4 stars for the shrimp skewer meal. I’ve had this meal from another restaurant and I can’t find one that compares. My husband’s catfish was good. The rest of the meal was good. The waitress took care of all tables by herself and was attentive to us all. Give this place a try.

Tammy offered me the special: 4 pieces of fish (which was sooo delicious and not overly battered but thinly and crispy), 2 hush puppies, fries, and Cole slaw for a very low affordable price. Great deal and recommendation.

The most tender, succulent catfish anywhere. The crust is light and flaky…it’s pure perfection. They know how to fry a fish filet. Whew.

French Fish House serves plentiful servings of crisp fried fish, and all the expected accoutrements. Hush puppies were crisp on the outside and tasty and moist on the inside fish was fried just perfectly. We stopped in on a whim and left full and happy with our choice

Our waitress was sweet and amazing! Super cozy and happy atmosphere, clean tables and DELICIOUS food! Absolutely the BEST fried fish EVER!!! We bought 2 half pies, one half was peanut butter and the other half was chocolate 5 layer. Yummy!!! Generous portions. Run don’t walk to Fred’s Fish House for the best food experience in Thayer, MO!!!

Mixed review, waiting a while for our food, even others around us who came in after got theirs. Waitress was friendly and that help out at least. The main saving grace was the food was delicious so that a huge plus. May try again next time in the area.
