First time coming here and let me just start with how the atmosphere is so cozy! I felt welcomed instantly. The owner not only came to our table to sit down and chat, but went to everyone’s table to say hello! He was very easy going and kind! Now onto the food as it was very delicious and tasty! The pancakes were just what I was looking for and those chicken and waffles were special! I ate even after I was full! Everything was perfect and I will definitely be going back!

Warm and welcoming feeling. Quick service, my food was out within 10-15min of me arriving. JUICY steak cooked to perfection. Home fries like no other! My 6 year old was filled after his meal and was greeted by all staff members. Definitely have to make this a go-to. Frank is a friendly, proud business owner. This restaurant brings a home feeling to downtown Reading. A Diamond in the rough.

Me and my family visited two days in a row. The experience was truly amazing from the atmosphere to the owner. He was very involved with his customers. The waitress also was very sweet. The cook was great! However, they need another one so the service would be a bit quicker. Being that I was there with my family we we’re talking while our breakfast was being prepared. The milkshakes were good. I highly recommend the peanut butter banana.

Franklyn’s Breakfast Burgers and Shakes feels like a hidden gem in Reading. They have recently opened for dinner hours so we were the only ones there when we arrived around 6pm on a Friday. We were greeted by owner Franklyn’s enthusiastic personality and charm. The rest of the staff was equally welcoming.

My experience at this restaurant was phenomenal. I went with my girlfriend on Father’s Day and I was greeted by the owner himself upon entering. He was very kind and genuine and we had a great conversation. The atmosphere was very welcoming, the music was soothing, and everyone on the staff had positive energy, even the cook! The food was immaculate and left me so full but still wanting more! The milkshakes are Top Tier (I got the mango peach and it was so good!) so be sure to try one before leaving. The walls were full of little colorful sticky notes with nice messages from people who also had great experiences so of course, I left a note as well. I would most definitely visit Franklyn’s again when I’m in the area. I wish there was one closer to where I live because I would eat breakfast there EVERYDAY!! Also side note: I always love seeing black men pursuing their passions in life and making a profit from it.

The food, atmosphere, and service was all spot on. Everything tasted amazing and Franklyn is just the nicest host. It feels like you’re invited into someone home for breakfast; very intimate with an open kitchen.Our server recommended a Oreo and peanut butter milkshake combo and i fell it love. I’ll definitely be back, I think I’ve found my spot!

My boyfriend and I wanted to try something new and I’m so glad we decided to try Franklyn’s! The food came pretty quickly and the service was great. We got to speak the one and only Franklyn himself and he was really kind as well as the rest of the staff. The vibe is very homey and the music was really nice to enjoy. Definitely worth a trip.

Driving across the state, chose a random place to stop for lunch, and it was a damn good choice! Everyone was really nice, and the food was really good. Has a greasy spoon feel, but the food was definitely higher quality. And the shakes… Get a shake.

My husband has been going here for a while and treated myself and our daughter. I don’t come here often, but Franklyn remembered me when I was pregnant. He is pleasant and personable. He’ll ask if it’s your first-time and really gets to know his customers. On top of that, the food is amazing. I definitely recommend eating here.
