The veal with artichokes, spinach atop polenta was DELICIOUS! Fried calamari with mini peppers was also good. String beans were hard and raw- even after sending them back for more cooking.

The food and service and atmosphere were great!! … but the entree I ordered was bland and not up to par with the rest of the menu. Don’t order the carbonara: weak and watery sauce, with right-out-of-a-soup-can diced chicken added in (extra). Probably better without, but still, a very watery sauce. Also, no fresh Parmesan offered or present at the table for the pasta dishes: what sort of nice Italian restaurant skips on that? If you want pasta, order the mushroom pasta or almost anything else. Buyers’ remorse.

The food was uniquely scrumptious; I had such a creative lasagna dish that was so delicious with spinach dough. My partner enjoyed his pasta with mushrooms. The tiramisu was some of the best I’ve ever had. Our service was friendly and helpful. We loved the romantic and cozy atmosphere. Can’t wait to come back!

Some of the best Italian food I’ve had. Their linguine alle vongole was . The decor was nice and the waiting staff was friendly.

What a delight it was to find this unexpected gem in the middle of Lenox. Great menu for vegan/vegetarian eaters and not just the one salad or ‘we can make you something special’ but an actual menu! Of course, plenty of great options for omnivores too. All of it was tasty, nicely presented, efficiently delivered and reasonably priced for this location. Great meal. We’ll be back.

While I understand that times are difficult and it is hard to find and hire staff, one should maintain a minimum standard and I have been to Frankie’s in the past so I know what they are capable of. This last meal was a disappointment both regarding the service and the food. I have no suggestion for an alternate; maybe a home cooked meal is best.

We stumbled upon this place when looking for gluten free dining options close to Lee MA and are now addicted to this place so much that we are driving 2 hours just to eat here again on Valentine’s Day! The food was outstanding! I have a tree nut and gluten allergy and got the most amazing meal ever! I got a GF pasta dish with truffle oil and squash in it (a special) and the meal came with the most delightful GF fresh bread to eat as an appetizer! Being GF you don’t expect to have bread ever with your meal and the fact that it tasted and had a soft consistency of regular bread blew me away! We also got specialty drinks that were handcrafted by the bartender – I got a spicy Margarita and my date got a Manhatten. I look forward to dining here many more times! Thank you FRANKIES!

Came in a couple weeks ago on a Saturday night. Got seated promptly in the back. Overall the food was great but the service was pretty bad. Our server seemed high and disinterested. We only heard that there was specials because another server mentioned them to her tables and we could hear. We had already placed our order by then though. Once we placed the order we never saw our server again till the end of the meal. The food took a long time too. We were sat on the later side when we had our reservation and the two two tops that came in after us both ordered after us and got their food before us. The server said he would grab us bread but never came back so I grabbed a back waiter (all of whom were zipping in and out of the back room a little too fast as our table was right next to the doorway) to get some bread and it was just mediocre.

Fantastic Italian restaurant… Certainly not your average, on every corner, Italian. (Not that that’s bad – we love pizza and chicken Parm as well) Intriguing cocktails, good wine list. Starters and entrees with unique pairings of flavors. Ingredients locally sourced, fresh and prepared well. Wait staff was attentive, informative and friendly. We plan to return whenever we are in the Berkshires again!!

Unfortunately, we had a bad experience last evening at Frankies. This is our fourth time here and something has changed dramatically with the chef. I ordered the special of the evening which was veal Melanese. It stated that it was lightly breaded I received it completely dried out like a hockey puck and it was deep-fried. You can taste the oil in it. We had meatballs as a starter and they were very hard and not moist at all. We had it ask for extra tomato sauce, and it was like out of a can. I changed my entrée after taking back the veal for linguine and clams. It was swimming in butter and oil. No sooner I asked for the new order it was out within three minutes. It was so hot. It must’ve been thrown in the microwave and the pasta cooked ahead of time. The eggplant my wife ordered was very dry. We had to again ask for extra sauce. Overall it was just a bad experience with our food. We also seem rushed. We were in an out within one hour. Unfortunately, we will not be back. We had no issues with our waitress and I apologize I forgot her name.
