We ate at Forrest Fire BBQ for the first time on 8/17/23, and we really enjoyed it! We went for a late lunch and were a little concerned that we were the only people in the restaurant at that time, but our worries quickly vanished. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful with explaining the menu and confirming which items were gluten-free, a must for Celiac sufferers like myself and my daughter. I ordered “Bub’s Pick” – a plate with two meats and two sides. I chose the pulled pork and the brisket, both of which were delicious. My wife got the chicken and loved it. The portion sizes are ridiculously generous – in hindsight, my wife and I could have shared the “Bub’s Pick” plate and probably would still have had some food leftover, but that’s OK – I enjoyed my leftovers for dinner the next day!

Great new spot on the island. You must come down to try this brisket. Great sauces and they’re going to be adding more soon. Bar is well stocked and features some great bourbon as well. We sat at the bar and enjoyed some music being played just outside at Fish. Definitely coming back

Great little counter service BBQ spot on Hilton Head Island. The brisket is awesome even by my (former Texan) standards. What I really liked though were the sides, particularly the BBQ pickles.

Pulled pork sandwich was fantastic, all the sides delicious, owner was very accommodating and helpful, and the atmosphere nice. Great selection of different types of BBQ sauce. Highly recommend

I’m a local and can honestly say it’s the best BBQ on the island! Not only is the BBQ awesome, but the sides are to die for!!!! Lots of family recipes that you won’t want to miss! Just.Go!

First of all, the delicious smells brought us in! The counter service was superb; the staff were both helpful and friendly! We enjoyed the “smallest” plate each, and had to take home leftovers. Generous portions of incredible bbq with sides… amazing! And don’t sleep on their egg salad! Super delish!

Clearly Scott Bodkin knows what he is doing. This Lexington Kentucky native knows good BBQ. Though all of his meats could use a bit more care in trimming the fat, the taste and tenderness is equal to or better than anyone else around. His sides are incredible. His collards are probably the best I have ever had and I have lived in the deep south for over 50 years. His homemade pickles were outstanding. His “Kentucky Black” sauce was unique to our taste. We loved it. There are some really great BBQ places in NC, SC, GA, and Alabama but now we have one right here in Hilton Head. Keep up the great work Scott!! We will be back again next week.

All the food was fantastic, however as it was my first time in I wasn’t aware on how everything worked. If there was signage indicating where to order I did not see it and ended up ordering down by the register which caused a little confusion. I was also overcharged and paid for a 3 meat pops plate even though I only ordered the 2 meat bub’s pick. I also left without grabbing any sauce which was super disappointing and it would be nice for a reminder to grab your own when getting a Togo order, or for it to be packaged with the order. Again the food was great and it is a new place so I was still happy with my visit, but just some suggestions to iron out some of the kinks

The chicken pulled pork and ribs very good. Mac and cheese and baked beans very good. The jello dessert best I ever had must try! Great place if you want something different than the same ol seafood restaurants in hilton head Island.
