Formosan Garden, formerly known as Teriyaki House, is located in the Golden Sparkling Plaza mall on West Colonial. The restaurant serves Taiwanese cuisine, and it is a gem of a place in Orlando. Taiwanese cuisine is big on fried and braised dishes. My favorite at Formosan is their Braised beef brisket with rice (combination box), beef noodle soup, and their bean curd & sliced pork. The braised beef is very tender and delicious. It goes well with their rice and noodle dishes. I can’t wait to come back (been back twice) to try other dishes. Also, they cook their dishes on order, which means that everything is fresh. It can take up to 30 minutes in advance if you don’t call ahead. If you have time to spare, try visiting the New Golden Sparkling supermarket as it is located a few stores down or Boba Queen for some delicious boba tea.

Being a Taiwanese and growing up in S. Florida with limited Taiwanese restaurant around, finding this gem in Orlando was such a treat! Totally authentic even with the lady taking orders with a Taiwanese accent! Ahh… home.

Terrible food. Ordered beef noodles soup (so bland and beef is unbelievably dry) fried tofu ( unedible!! They put a teaspoon of raw garlic on every piece! I love garlic but u can’t eat it) braised Pork belly with rice freaking terrible (so bland they put Oyster sauce on top for the flavor, ridiculous. Popcorn chicken was pretty good but I wouldn’t go there to buy that either. So many great Chinese restaurants right around there choose somewhere else. And due to them being so slow they don’t turn on the air conditioning. Makes the visit even more frustrating lol
