I’ve been ordering takeout from Forbidden City since 2017. The food is always ready very fast prior to my arrival for pickup and service is always friendly. I’ve ordered an array of items from the menu such as Kung pao chicken, chicken fried rice, general tsos, and crispy shredded chicken/beef. Everything always tastes great. It’s the best takeout Chinese I’ve found in the area. Definitely recommend supporting this local small business!

I have had Chinese food in the west coast, east coast, in different countries, and this is by far the best American Chinese/Chinese food I have ever eaten. The food is very flavourful and is even great when it’s reheated. The people who work there are polite and are never rude. Whenever I’m in McLean, I always make it a point to get food here. I’ve been eating from Forbidden City when they were a restaurant, and even after they downsized and moved, they’re still great.

The best chicken leMain and broccoli crispy beef ever! This place is one hidden gem in McLean that I discovered a couple of years ago and now my son also loves it.

I love to find little ‘hole in the wall’ places that make good food. This is one of those. A very small operation. I think they only have three tables inside. However, their mainstay is carryout and delivery. The food is plentiful and tasty. All of the typical American versions of Chinese food. It may actually be closer to the Chinese versions, however. Everyone who works there appears to be Chinese. That’s certainly a ‘plus’. Clean and inexpensive as well.

Rice tasted like it was cooked in the same vessel as they clean their socks in. The orange steak was pretty good but this is the only time I have had a bad fortune cookie. It was so bad I spit it out and refused to read the fortune.

Fast American Chinese cuisine. You get what you pay for and there aren’t surprises. I got Beef with Winter Vegetables. I’m not upset but my palate wasn’t wowed either.

Very good Chinese food, it has one of my favorite dishes of all time. You can get it take out or you can wait a few minutes due to how quickly they’re able to make it.

The owner sold it and now it’s called Hunan Express, different chef, not as good and delivery used to be 30 to at most 45 minutes; tonight it’s going on 1 hour 45 minutes and nothing yet. Oh well,,,
