Our visit was on a Saturday, we arrived just before opening. The dogs (2) needed some coaching to get out of the driveway. As expected we were seated immediately. My wife had the Moscato and I had a Shiner bock. Both were as anticipated. The bread served, as previously noted, seemed fried and overly seasoned with garlic. My wife ordered the Teriyaki chicken and I had the filet. We had a Fireside salad with the meals and we each had loaded baked potatoes. We liked the salad, served family style, although wished there had been onions in it My steak instead of being seared was charred/burnt and crusty while being perfect on the inside, not my preference. My wife was satisfied with her chicken and rice. Sadly, we were too full to order dessert (as usual).

Neat little rustic place. Don’t seem to take reservations but if your a regular you may have a standing one. Hmm. Able to get a drink at the bar while you wait. Friendly staff. Good food. Crab cake was good for being inland. Salad was a salad. Prime rib was good not great. Baked potato was ok. Filet was great. A little loud and not an intimate setting as hoped. 4 stars for Ardmore, 3 for any where else.

This steakhouse I visited in 2019 while camping nearby at buzzards roost campground at Lake Murray. Just revisited with my beautiful friend to celebrate my 57th birthday 3 years later July 2023. The place is well known to locals and new visitors are always showing up for this excellent steakhouse. There’s many other options as well, and priced accordingly to fine quality foods. Not the cheapest place if looking for a quick byte but well worth the wait. With limited nights the place is open, Friday and Saturday, you can expect a long wait time, at least during summer, but the waiting areas are pretty and comfortable, they serve drinks while waiting. The photos I’m sharing are almost exactly what I ordered in 2019. The Sirloin 8 oz was amazing, the fried shrimp were Hugh. The same thickness and hickory flavor today as it was 3 years prior. Mouth watering every time! So, if you’re looking for fine foods in this area, this is it!

My husband and I love this restaurant and we’ve been coming here for years. Most recently on our drive up to OKC from Texas, we decided to stop at Fireside to eat. We were so disappointed to be told at the door that they closed at 8pm instead of 9pm. It seems that their schedule is incorrectly posted online.

Cook the night before and someone else was taking over we had to send our steaks back three times because they were so raw we could not they were so burnt on the outside you could hardly kept them. No one offered to give us a new stake nor did they offer to comp the meal in anyway. I have been eating there since 1980 I will not be back I brought people from out-of-town to experience a place that I thoroughly love and was completely disappointed to the point we spent over $100 for our meal and we could not eat

Kind of a weak start but a strong finish. Just passing through and decided to grab a bite, found it online & took the exit. Nice looking place, rustic style outside, dim/dated inside. Ordered stuffed mushrooms appetizer and it was burnt til black outside, completely raw/uncooked inside. Went ahead and waited for the entreès and they were both great. Top sirloin and pork chops both came out exactly as ordered, the sides were good, the salads were fresh and crisp. The waitress was friendly and attentive without being annoying at all. A little more expensive than your chain restaurants but worth it. Hopefully those mushrooms were just a fluke.

It’s one of the best restaurants in Ardmore. Excellent food and service. It’s a must stop place if you are in this area.

We read all the reviews before going to this steakhouse, and they seemed to be pretty split down the middle, some people had good experiences and some not so much. We walked in with zero expectations because of the reviews. Let me tell you about our experience: It’s a cute place for date night. We were seated at our table and the waitress brought bread for the table and got our drink order. The bread appeared to be deep fried, it was weird. I LOVE bread of any kind, but could not get on board with this. When our drinks came (wine and a beer) we ordered the fried pickles. The pickles were extremely spicy. I was unable to eat them, my husband had a few but not many. I ordered the 7 Oz filet with the vegetable of the day (asparagus) and he ordered the Cajun prime rib with a baked potato. Our dinner came with a salad and it was brought in a bigger bowl for the table to share. The salad had sunflower seeds in it and on top were sprouts, just a heads up. Our dinner came out…..My food was cold, the asparagus was not cooked like I’d ordered it (well done), the seasoning on the steak was inconsistent. It was cooked the way I ordered, medium rare, but it was “grainy”. That’s the best way I can describe the texture. On to the husband’s Cajun prime rib. He ordered it medium rare, it came out more on the well down side and had a grey tint to it, and was very tough. There were no seasoning on the meat to even make it Cajun. The best thing about the meal were the dinner rolls and drinks. (However, I ordered a water and never received it, so I ordered another glass of wine. You win some you lose some.) The whole meal was 150ish dollars and all we ate the dinner rolls. I was going to send EVERYTHING back so they could make it right, but the husband said he rather feed the dog that sits outside the front door than wasting the meat. The service was okay, but our waitress was overwhelmed and I heard her tell a table that she had a ton of tables. It’s unfortunate because it’s right down the road from where we are staying and hoped to have a nice place to eat.

As most comments indicate, it is pricey. But if you try it just one time you’ll see why. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The staff are accommodating from your first step in to your last step out. The appetizers we ordered (crab cake and french onion soup) were remarkably hot, freshly made in-house, and awesomely tasty. The aged steaks were tender, juicy, and perfectly cooked over hickory. I could go on and on; but my comments wouldn’t change. It was a great culinary experience and one I hope to return back to in the near future.
