It was the first time visiting Firehouse Subs. I was overall impressed with the interior decor. I bought the medium meatball Parm sub and the cheese steak sub. The food was absolutely delicious. One of the best subs in the entire state of Florida. The only downside, the staff. They could have been a lot more upbeat and cordial. Very unprofessional. Not excited about their job, no warm greeting, no smile, no thank you, come again! It doesn’t warrant taking off a star but as a nurse and professional, they need to be taught proper etiquette and manners. This keeps customers coming back.

Great establishment to eat at and they give back to our hometown heroes! The facility in DeLand was very clean and well maintained. During my visit it was very busy and crowded, but the staff did an excellent job at keeping the line moving. I was very impressed at how well the staff behind the counter worked together and communicated to keep everything flowing at a steady pace. With how busy it was not only did I get my lunch fast but it was well made! I had an Italian sub and my husband enjoyed a Firehouse “Hero”! Thank you for a clean, fast, efficient,and delicious meal!

After I finished ordering I would assume the person that took my order would get to making it but no. He’s too busy chatting up about some school drama with another girl. I had waited 15 min. I’m the only one in the store! Even a customer that came in after me got his order first because another girl finished his. It’s unprofessional and annoying.

We’re here on vaca from Seattle. My wife saw Firehouse and said, Lets try it , you’ve always wanted to. We walk in. There’s 5 employees, only one is working an order at the counter. Theres 4 in the back talking. Nobody says anything to us for 5 mins. So I tell the lady behind the counter. We dont have these but I always wanted to try it. She shrugges me off. Another 5 mins. Another employee ask the other, what should I do. She finally tells her to take our order. She takes our order, but never smiles or offer extra toppings or condiments. Remember not everyone knows how firehouse subs works. At subway you watch snd tell them which toppings. So sandwiches fall short on toppings cause of my ignorance. I’ll take that. But my wife ask for her sandwich cold not toasted with vinegar and oil. Mine was a toasted steak and cheese. You made her toasted, mine cold and so soggy with vin and oil. I threw it away. Your employees were unprofessional, dirty, and plain rude. Ive been in customer service 27 years. I manage 40 man crews. Your people reflect on your customers. This customer is very unsatisfied, and I think its your staff at this location.

28 Nov 2020 Food and service were both great! But….. We were very disappointed that there is ZERO enforcement of the face mask requirement that they clearly posted on the entry door! Look, I’m not a fanatical, sky-is-falling, mask nut. And I certainly don’t want your employees to get into scuffles with difficult and ignorant patrons! But I do want our local business to take this COVID situation seriously. There is a reason for the mask requirement… A VERY GOOD reason. And if you don’t intend to enforce it, take the sign down! Don’t post it on your doors because the city requires it and then ignore the rules.

Our subs took an unusually long time and when we finally did get them they looked like they were quickly thrown together definitely not as good as it usually is. A lot of the employees seemed sloppy. We also watched the manager come from outside and immediately come Into the food prep area without washing his hands. When we finally did see him “wash” his hands he sprayed whatever solution is used on the tables on his hands.

Always Aware
Sandwiches are good and hearty. It’s a bit expensive if you order a sandwich with chips and soda at $11.27. They upgrade the soda for free from small to large. The drink menu at the kiosk is extensive. I like the fact that it has a selection for most. All in all, it’s a nice face to satisfy your appetite but watch your pennies. They also ask for donations. Just saying.
