Firehouse is always a staple when it comes to a good sub sandwich. One of my favorites, Hook and Ladder is something I almost always get. The husband is always a fan of the Smokehouse brisket sandwich on wheat which is their version of a BBQ sub. Both are very good and if you combine the two you will get the (currently limited time offered flavor) The Smoking Triple Stack (photo provided on white bread). Which has all the meats mentioned in the previous sandwiches.

When we arrived, we were the only customers in the place. The cashier was VERY thorough and double-checked our order for me and my husband. I asked for EXTRA chopped pickles on my sub and for extra pickles on the side. I was EXTREMELY pleasantly surprised when I opened my sub box and had exactly what I asked for.

Wonderful staff. The lady taking my order was patient. She made sure my onion allergy was know. Toward the end of the order she asked if I was splitting my order and would I like it in two baskets. I was splitting what I ordered and it was so nice of her to do that for me! I didn’t have to wait long for my food to be made. My other half, and I all enjoyed our sub very much!

Never had any problems with firehouse till recently, all the sandwiches I used to get were thinner and thinner to the point where it’s not what I used to get anymore, and doesn’t feel worthy of the price. I mean, at 11 dollars, this one looks like the quick ones I make at home with deli meats. And with it being so thin it’s basically just all sauce, all it tastes like is pure sweet baby Ray’s. Can’t finish, too sweet.

I got there after work about 4pm. 5 people “working” and the manager was the worst of them all. I was irritated already because the man in front of me already paid and waiting on bring handed his cup because they were just laughing and goofing off. When I actually got to the register, I know I had an irritated lol on my face and the manager looked at me and said ew, then whispered in an employee ear while looking at me. Needless to say, if I really wanted firehouse, I’ll go to Fleming island from now on.

No sense of urgency from any of the employees. They all seemed to be concentrating on what was playing on their earbuds. It took over 20 minutes to get my sandwich and they were out of pickles. HTF can a sandwich shop be out of pickles? And I’m sorry, the price for what you actually get is just not worth it.
