Casual restaurant located in old town. If you don’t find parking in front, you can park on the street or in the back lot. I ordered to go and wasn’t disappointed. THE MONROE SPECIAL vegetarian sandwich, was flavorful and served on soft, warm bread. We also grabbed a side of mac and cheese which wasn’t my favorite but still very much edible. The star of the show is their JAMBALAYA. You can have it with pasta or rice (we chose rice) and it was nothing short of delectable.

Decided to give this place a try, and I’m so glad we did! The food was on point! We got brisket, ribs, candied yams, collard greens, baked beans, and a sweet potato cheesecake! The meat was flavorful, moist, and fell off the bone! The sides were all delicious, and the dessert put the cherry on top! This restaurant has good quality food and I’m so happy they are local! Wish I would have taken a picture, but I ate it too fast!

Wow… The food here is just… AMAZING! I mean every. Single. Thing we ordered was hot, fresh, and delicious. Our waitress Francesca was very nice and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. I’m not from this area, so this was our first time here but I will say, it will most definitely not be the last time we come. My oxtails were AMAZING, yams, mac and cheese, greens, Okrah… All amazing. My wife and kids also loved their meals and we all left full and satisfied. Oh and we got there about 40 minutes before closing and I honestly thought they would turn us away, but they didn’t. We were worried we wouldn’t get their best coming in late, but they didn’t skip a beat. If you’re thinking about going…. GO! NOW! THIS IS YOUR SIGN! LOL

Decided at the last minute to go to this restaurant and we were not disappointed. We were given warm cornbread muffins with whipped butter when we sat down. Wow they were delicious!! Soft in the middle and a little crunchy around the edges with a slight taste of sweetness. The fried green tomatoes were some of the best we have had. Fried with cornmeal that does not over power the taste of the tomatoes. Main coarse we had baby back ribs, catfish, red beans and rice and coleslaw. Meat fell off the rib bones. The catfish was fried in cornmeal and was crunchy and flaky. Everything we put into our mouths was so so good.
