Love, love, love this place! The food is perfect every time but what gets me is how incredible the service is. I leave the Reitz Union with a smile on my face because of how kind and helpful the employees are. Can’t recommend them enough!

One thing I truly enjoy about Fat G’s is their customer service along, with the great food they serve! As soon as I walk up to the counter, I am always greeted with smiling faces and great hospitality to match! It it makes the food even more tastier. As a student at UF, I never have to worry about not feeling full after. Fat G’s BBQ will have you feeling full and content so I can take on the rest of my day with classes and studying. I love to visit after a long tiring day of walking around campus. It is also a great source of protein with generous portion sizes. I usually order my favorite which is their mac and cheese or their pulled pork rice bowl!

One of the best BBQ places in Gainesville and my go-to lunch spot when I’m on campus. All of their proteins are delicious, smokey, and tender. The mac and cheese is everything you want in a mac and cheese – gooey, creamy, and delicious. But one of the best parts of stopping here is the customer service. Everyone I have stopped here, no matter the time of day, everyone is friendly and seems genuinely happy to serve you and make sure you have the best experience. 10/10, highly recommended Fat G’s.

Food was fantastic. Prices were a little higher than other stands in the food court but it was definitely worth it. I got a Fat Boy Special with brisket and baked beans, tasted great. I haven’t had brisket since I moved to Gainesville, and I had low expectations considering it was in a good court, but honestly it was some of the greatest brisket I’ve had. I’ll definitely be coming again, I want to try the Mac bowl next time.

They had really good chicken went I went there. I love BBQ chicken so this meal hit, and, surprisingly, it matched up my mama’s level of BBQ chicken. However, they didn’t have any Mac N’ Cheese went I went there, which was disappointing because I heard there was some hype around the Mac N’ Cheese. Looking forwards to coming there during finals-week to hopefully get Mac N’ Cheese this time! Also, had very great, friendly employees treating customers and me well!

I’ve never really eaten in the Reitz until Fat G’s came along, and now that they have they’re the only place I’ve wanted to eat from when I’m here! Their brisket is super tender and well-seasoned, and the mac is super cheesy. You can tell they care about what they cook and that it’s made with love. Highly recommend trying them, you won’t regret it!!

Tried Fat G’s for the first time a couple semesters ago back when they only came once a week at the reitz. My absolute favorite restaurant at the reitz! so delicious and im normally not even a fan of bbq. the mac and cheese or the rice bowl with beans and brisket are my go to, and i’ve never been disappointed :)! Also, they’re very friendly and kind ! Support local businesses! this one is definitely worth it.

Order a brisket mac bowl if you come here. Brisket is bursting with flavor, and the mac and cheese is delicious. Other menu proteins are great as well, but the brisket is my personal favorite. Easily the best food in the Reitz, so definitely order some bbq the next time your hungry in the Reitz.
