On 6/22/23 @550pm went in just to get a sweet dessert and the first thing outta of their mouths were “we don’t have chicken”, manager standing there with a smirk on her face. I said I was there only for the “raspberry chimi cheesecake”, oh we don’t have that either. I find their attitudes not having anything very smug and if they didn’t want to serve customers why don’t they just close early?!

I placed an online order under a Pseudonym. The email stated that the order would be ready in less than an hour. That’s fine, I understand the food industry. However it turned to 7:00pm and I still haven’t gotten a confirmation email. I live 10 minutes away, so I first decided to call, I called for 3 times and no one picked up. I had my sister call, 4 times and no one picked up. So maybe they changed their phone number. I decided to go in person and I was shocked. I saw the girl by herself making the orders and helping everyone. The line was basically to the outside and there were even door dash orders. I understood why our email confirmation wasn’t sent so I stood and waited in line. I then decided to go up and say I was here for an online order since I know you don’t have to wait in line for online orders. My order was given to me and apparently it’s been ready since the beginning and I didn’t have to wait close to an hour after I placed the order. I accept and understand I should’ve gone in person earlier but I love this business and believed they still were good and had good customer service. However it doesn’t stop there. I came home, I fixed everyone’s plates and we started eating. But my dad and my brother both found long black hair in their chicken. I wish I took a photo but I wasn’t planning on leaving this review. I don’t want any compensation except for the owners and the managers to talk to the supervisors and workers in order to keep this place clean free and to improve their customer service. Thank you. If this review helps you with hesitation in ordering fastway chicken just remember that it’s been around for decades and it’s for a reason, their food is good and always a treat but lately it hasn’t been the same.

I’m disabled so I usually order via Doordash..best chicken I’ve had!! I’m moving to Arizona Saturday so I’m sad not to be close to Fastway but my daughter is coming to pick me up from Arizona and she can’t wait to try the chicken..see you then!

Don’t expect anything fancy at this place! This very humble no frills establishment can fry the pants off of chicken! I haven’t tried much else other than the logs and rolls (which are also good), but the chicken really is the best in Madera. Dare I say the central valley? This place has been family owned since it opened, and it doesn’t get much more mom and pop fried chicken than this. I have only been twice so far, but I will be coming back for years to come. My only disappointment is I didn’t know about it sooner.

Used to come here when I was a teenager. Have since moved from Madera. I was in town at the pomegranate festival. They had booth. We decided to head to the market instead. The chicken is as I remember it. The potato logs were my favorite though.
