Amazing food, fair prices, gorgeous space. They manage to make it feel so open and airy despite being quite small. I had the Fern+Dale with a side salad and a Rosemary Palmer. All fantastic (even the side salad, which had no business being that good. I could have eaten an entire plate of just that!). The fact that you’re supporting local is like a cherry on top. Def recommend.

Delicious cold brew & bowls! The best poached egg I’ve had anywhere. A bit of a pricey option for breakfast but it was definitely filling & worth the treat!

Stopped in for a drink before a play at the Guthrie. The drink was strong enough but smooth. The staff was friendly and the interior is very cute. We are hoping to go back to try the food. I typically leave a 20% tip so the gratuity charge doesn’t bother me at all. If you want to leave more bring cash. They stock local spirits and make good drinks.

BE AWARE – they add a 20% tip to all bills no matter how many people are in your party. Farmers Kitchen sounds good in concept but it doesn’t live up to what they promise. The restaurant is really small and there isn’t a natural spot where you can “checkin” for your reservation or to get a table. There seems to be a lot of staff but everyone seemed very stressed and rushed. Everyone was very friendly. We did the cheese platter – lots of wheat bread triangles but no crackers or crusty bread. Some of the cheese there was only enough for one person to try. I had the Fern+Dale Sandwich, it was ok. The jam on the bottom made the bread soggy. I also had the wild rice soup with my sandwich, I found that this was really lacking flavor. It was very bland, maybe it’s because I’m used to chicken in it, but I don’t know, I only ate a few spoonfuls. My husband had the short rib sandwich. He said the meat was very good but really heavy on horseradish. He had the jo Jo’s with his sandwich, and those were good. My friend had the grilled cheese with ham. Unfortunately the sandwich was soggy not crispy. My other friend had the schnitzel sandwich, which again she said the pork was good but the sandwich tasted like it was missing something. The chips are corn tortilla chips which were ok. I think it has the potential for being really good but right now it misses the mark. I give people a pass right now because places seem to be short staffed, but we didn’t get a lot of help – I was just drinking water and no one came around to fill until we were almost done eating. They brought our CC slip to sign and no pen. Cost, we had a party of four, the cheese plate and 3 alcoholic drinks – total tab with the 20% tip they added was $166, which for 4 sandwiches and chips seems expensive.

We stopped here after spending the morning at the flour museum next door. Food was good service ok. I did have a problem with the “service charge”. There was no mention of it on the menu, they don’t have full table service yet they added 20% to the bill for service. You order at the counter and thy bring the food to the table. I like to decide for myself what the service is worth. In fact I often tip more than 20%. If I receive bad service less. It should be my.

Went here for the first time for lunch a couple of days ago. Immediately got a strong negative vibe, borderline surely, from the waitstaff that they were being inconvenienced that they had to bus a table or do anything but bring food out to tables. Ordered two Farmhouse Fried Chicken salads. The one chicken salad chicken was tough because it was over cooked. The center of the second chicken had a 1/2″ raw pink uncooked center throughout it. Wow, restaurant food preparation 101 missed on that. Can you say food poisoning. Took the raw chicken to the counter and explained my issue. Suddenly they were friendly, willing to talk to us and say sorry it happened when previously the server didn’t acknowledge our existence when we were waiting for a table she was busing previously. They said it happens (undercooked chicken) sometimes during the Guthrie matinee rush. Really this has happened at other times and you’re telling a customer this and not permanently correcting the issue? They did comp us the price of one of the salads. Also beware that they have an automatic 20% gratuity put on your bill and have the nerve to put a tip jar at the cash register besides. I guess if staff is guaranteed 20% why provide any service at all to customers like we experienced. That should be their motto! Hard pass on this place in the future.

We had the wedge salad and the grilled cheese. Both were fine, though “nothing to write home about.” The JoJo’s potatoes were cooked fine, but nothing you couldn’t get anywhere else. The chips that came with the sandwich were tortilla chips from a bag. They were good ones, but I would have liked something maybe house-made in the restaurant. Our server was adequately attentive. The cocktails, beer and wine choices were good. I always like a fresh crisp wedge salad. The lettuce was very fresh and crisp, but a little too much water left in it which diluted the dressing as I ate. The dressing was really good. The bacon seem to have been cooked earlier in the day, and could have been crisped up before it was put on the salad. It’s a great location, but I guess I expected a bit more for that part of town. I would go back, but it wasn’t anything out of the ordinary. I think it’s supposed to be ingredients from local farms, but none of that was listed in the menu.
