Great place across from the courthouse. The food was good (although they did give me the wrong chicken salad sandwich). I liked that you could substitute veggies in a cup for the side to the sandwich (the cup had carrots, celery and cucumbers and included a cup of ranch dressing for dipping the veggies). For dessert I ordered the “smallest chocolate sundae” which was larger than I expected given the name. It was good but I wish it was possible to have hot fudge as an option vs only chocolate syrup. I’m also not sure what they are using for whipped cream because it had no flavor.

For out-of-town visitors, this is a fun, quaint old-school soda fountain located directly in the center of historic downtown Waxahachie. It’s near several really interesting local businesses and the courthouse. The interior is well-maintained and speaks of days gone by. We were there during the lunch hour, yet we had prompt service.

We love Farm Luck, and have had several good experiences here! They have great sandwiches, wraps, and salads. The menu items are all very simple, but well-done. My favorites are the jalapeño pimento cheese sandwich, and the tomato basil soup. They also have a soda fountain with ice cream, shakes, sundaes, malts, and more. Farm Luck is located in a perfect spot adjacent to the Ellis County Courthouse, and they have done a great job preserving and showcasing some of the historic elements in the building. I would definitely recommend Farm Luck- it is a great lunch spot l, and the location can’t be beat!

It’s hard not to give this place 5 stars because I would recommend it if you are in the area. It’s a nice place to have lunch and the food was pretty good. I will say this though, the young people working here were not sitting around talking or trying to figure out something to do. They were cleaning if they weren’t cooking, waiting on people, helping prepare the food or delivering it. They were busy, busy. The food prep is done where you can see it too. I really liked that. No surprises. The chef was putting out the food too. The whole staff seemed to know what needed to be done and were willing to help. That was a pleasant surprise now days. Good customer service. What a great idea! The menu is sandwiches, wraps and soups along with the soda fountain drinks and desserts. My wife had the half farm club sandwich with taco soup. The soup was the only thing that was not good. My daughter had the farm club sandwich. The sandwiches are served with chips. I had the Texas wrap. It was pretty good. All of the items appeared to be proportioned appropriately for lunch in my opinion. $28 for 3 people including tip. We had the worlds smallest ice cream sundae also. $1.99. It’s just the right portion for one person (or two) at lunch. It’s a busy place but, it’s on the square and we will eat there again I’m sure.

A friend of mine told me about this place. I’m surprised I haven’t heard of it before. It’s a really cute and unique place downtown on Jefferson across from the court house. We went yesterday together for a mom and kids lunch date. I ordered a PB&J for my daughter and a chicken salad sandwich for my son which both came with ruffles chips. I ordered a farmhouse salad and added chicken. We got lemonade and tea which came in cute Mason jars. The food was really good and you get free drink refills on fountain and tea. For desert I got us all a banana split to share. It was enough for all 6 of us! It was delicious! I highly recommend trying this place!

I enjoyed my meal though the sandwich needed help with spreading out the ingredients. I asked for extra Mayo but couldn’t taste any. I still recommend this place, I wish I could have tried a root beer float, maybe next time, this was my choice, not because they couldn’t serve. Cute little spot in a cute little town. The register was a little confusing because I guess they serve docent types of orders at each one, I suggest they put up a sign saying so because it felt like I was being ignored.

Prompt service, delicious shakes/malts. Very clean. Nice staff. Cool receipts. They put what you are wearing on them to identify you when you are seated at your table. Food presentation was good. Nice size portions. Forgot my pickle and cherry, egg salad could have been more flavorful. All in all, we would go again!

If I could give this place a negative zero I would. My husband and I walked in to a circle of frowns. Not one smile or hello. We were the only customers in the restaurant. It was our first time there so my husband asked the cashier for her suggestion on what to order and she shrugged her shoulders with no verbal response. He asked her again and again the shrug. All the while the other workers continued to sip on their drink and stare us down. The phone rang and the cashier that was begrudgingly standing in front of us took the call while we were waiting to order while the other two workers stood there sipping there drink and doing nothing. This was the WORST experience I’ve ever had in Waxahachie! Take your business to the Dessert Spot across the street and be amazed at the excellent customer service and the amazing food.

When by for a sweet treat with my sweet. We got these really fantastic ice cream sandwiches on these fantastic Cookies with 3 large Scoops of ice cream. I got the mint chocolate chip and my awesome better half got chocolate both with chocolate chip cookies. Best ever. Want to try more. Will be back.
