I saw an ad that an award winning chef was opening a new restaurant in Hawthorne on July 25 which happened to be our anniversary. I thought it would be nice to give it a shot. I hit this one out of the park. Chef Adam Weiss opened a great restaurant and his mom, Heddy greeted us. A warm greeting and we immediately felt very comfortable. We had a marinated beet salad wi hummus and quinoa tabboulah. Absolutely delicious. We also shared the fresh mozzarella with eggplant caponata. Another great choice. My wife had herb crusted cod over a cauliflower purée with mushrooms broccolini and lemon butter sauce. All I can say is my wife was very happy. Ou daughter had chicken with summer ratatouille and whipped potatoes. Another excellent choice.

We were excited to try this new restaurant based what we’ve heard, and it didn’t disappoint. We were warmly greeted and quickly seated (make reservations, the restaurant was packed).

Very nice job by Adam and his staff. Food was delicious. We had 2 appetizers the mussels that were outstanding and the calamari and artichoke that was equally outstanding. Pork entree was amazing as were the shrimp and grits. Portion size of everything was generous food came out perfect temperature perfect in every way. Just for some constructive feedback for this outstanding restaurant, we don’t love the lighting and think some improvements can be made there, A better presentation of the menu would be helpful the paper stapled together is not representative of this outstanding restaurant, And lastly, the truffle fries just weren’t crunchy enough shame on me for not sending it back I know they would have fixed it. These last few items were not to be picky they were just to help Adam and his team. We love the restaurant and will definitely be back

First time there. It was very busy and loud. Very happy that they are doing well. Tuna tartare was perfect. Salmon very good. Disappointed in jambalaya. Loved our waiter. Very apologetic about the jambalaya coming out late, etc.

Chef Adam has opened an amazing restaurant. Everything was delicious, from a terrific tuna tartar and super tasty calamari to some of the best desserts I have eaten. Highly recommend!

What a treat! It’s rare to find a Michelin-star restaurant experience in an NYC-metro suburb but F1RST delivers in many ways. From the considerate service, to the diverse appetizers and the classic dinner array, we found each dish to be exquisite. A breath of fresh air on North Jersey’s restaurant scene.

Award-winning Chef Adam Weiss’ new restaurant F1rst is absolutely wonderful! Everything we ordered was delicious from appetizers all the way through dessert! Our server was amazing and Adam himself came out to check in on us and many throughout the dining room. It was our first trip to F1rst and we’ll definitely be back! Our new favorite restaurant – highly recommend!!!

As an 18-year Hawthorne resident, my wife and I were excited to not only try, but support a new, local, business.

This is a new place that I hope lasts a long time. Chief Adan Weiss goes all out on the food. And his wait staff goes all out on the service.
