The brisket was good. But the sides not so much. Potato salad had a giant chunk of potato the macaroni was super dry. And the famous sauce wasn’t popping like it used to.

A friendly and unique legacy business with pretty decent barbecue from a real brick oven, quick service. On the whole I liked the ambiance, the food and value. They take credit and debit but I left the tip in cash. You do have to be careful to keep your to go clamshell package flat and level because it is really loaded up with sauce.

Coming from the south, I’ve definitely had better barbecue. I enjoyed the flavor but I’m used to my ribs sliding off the bone. The baked beans aren’t what I’d expected, and they lacked meat. But again I found the flavors nice. Live music at times but there’s small amounts of seating.

Wowwww. Perfect ribs that fell off the bone, with just enough char that you can really taste the smoke. Perfect blend of sweetness, brightness of acid, and heat that builds over time. One of the best meals I’ve had all year. Thank you!!!

Great little spot. I’m a first-timer and was told to definitely visit here while in the area. I checked it out. The atmosphere was cool and the employees were pleasant. I wasn’t impressed with the food. It was meh… I particularly didn’t like my meats completely drowned with bbq sauce. Made for a big mess before I got back to the hotel. Also, making all of the meats taste the same. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but the potato salad tasted as if there was nutmeg or cinnamon in it. I wasn’t feeling that

6/18/23 I got the 3 way ribs, chicken and links. Ribs were very tough. The sauce was too watered down, runny. I go there for the links but they were terrible. I got mostly link skin and it was soggy. The Macaroni and cheese was crumbly and the cheese was following off into the watery sauce.

Sorry, but if you’re white, you may not feel welcome here as I didn’t here during my most recent visit to the Berkeley location. I have been going here for years, but recently, the additude has gotten real bad and should be called Whites aren’t welcome, Barbeque… seriously. Try asking any simple questions or taking more than 2 seconds to order and you’re told to go to the back of the line….

A Berkley classic. One of my favorite bbq spots the biggest sides of all the bbq places I’ve been too. Ribs were really good they are not stingy with the sauce either.
