Outstanding service from some of the friendliest, kindest, and most conscientious staff I have ever experienced. The food was as amazing as the service. The seafood pie was complimented by perfectly prepared green beans and mashed potatoes. My wife has not stopped raving about her lamb chops. Well done ESG!

My husband and I came here wanting good food, good vibes, and good conversation – we got it all. Even though this place has a bar, the music was at such a perfect level that we could enjoy it (yes, 90’s pop!) while still able to comfortably have a conversation without competing with the volume. The food was excellent – hubby had the salmon and I had the season special, butternut squash ravioli. YUM. We also had a Caesar salad and the Caprese. Very generous portions, quality ingredients, and a moody atmosphere. Can’t wait to come back!

At Essex Street Grill you are greeted with homemade bean dip as soon as you are seated, a local favorite! The service is quick and attentive with family members working the floor. The Crab Rangoon is mediocre but that is something we decided to take a chance on and this could have been a hit or miss night but lots of cream cheese and that’s understandable since it’s lobster. The special was seafood pie covered in lobster sauce. Excellent. The bar also had 5 unique beers on tap. Every thing was delicious

The food and the service here were excellent! The Tuna was probably one of the best I’ve had in the area! Everything came out pretty quickly but we didn’t feel rushed given the time restrictions applied in most restaurants at the moment. The Drink I got was called ‘Coconut Dream’ I believe and was exactly that! The dessert however, was pretty bland. It was more fitting for kids, something you’d serve at a bday party. But that came from an outside baker so that’s a different story. Definitely somewhere I’ll come back to if I’m in the area again.

Third time I have gotten a rotten salad (Take out) (Mango Salad) I have spent hundreds on this horror show! The owner wouldn’t take the salad back and make me a new one which is only like $16. I ordered double Salmon which was fine. The bill is like $40 for Salmon and salad, So what the heck is wrong with her loosing a customer with actual money to spend. The cheese is rotten and the avocado which I am posting up a picture. Do not go here you will get sick! I hope she actually goes and takes care of that spoiled daily. Don’t worry I will do something about this.

The food was great but the server gave me and my friends a nasty look when we insisted on a printed menu, and when we asked for 3 separate checks. Then, she stopped working with us halfway through the evening and another waitress came in and started working with us and that waitress had such a low cut blouse, she was showing off all her assets. I was embarrassed for her! At the end of the night, after we finished three delicious meals, I asked to speak to the manager. The owner came over and when I told her that the food was good but the original waitress was unfriendly and the second waitress was flashing us, she rolled her eyes and dryly said have a good Christmas and then walked away.

First time trying Essex Street Grille and was not impressed. We went on Tuesday night and our waitress had zero personality. We told her it was our first time there and there was no expression on her face. A warm “Welcome” would have been nice along with maybe some menu suggestions. Nope. Stone faced. A friend we were with ordered a margarita and sent it back. The waitress seemed annoyed instead of apologetic. I tried it, it tasted terrible. My friend was super nice about it and that still didn’t soften this woman’s attitude. Our other drinks from the bar were just OK. The free bean dip that is offered had a weird sweet flavor that was not appealing at all. My reason for even giving this place 2 stars was because the Chicken Marsala was very good but that was one of the four meals ordered. The other three were mediocre and lacked flavor. I would probably would have given this place a second chance but really am not inclined to do so because the first impression was so poor.
