This place makes the best pizza anywhere. It’s called Ernie’s but it really should be called Pat’s because Pat makes all the pizza’s and he’s a master at it. I’ve tried all the world famous pizza places around town and in other part of the country but I always seem to crave Ernie’s. First pizza I’ve ever tried that I actually look forward to eating the crust. Must try and it’s worth the trip but be sure to call ahead because this place gets busy especially on weekends. Very family friendly atmosphere.

This is my favorite pizza joint in new haven and west haven. Always delicious, always friendly. Just go try it if you never have, you won’t regret it.

We were a rowdy bunch and the waitresses were patient friendly and very helful. Excellent Pizza. I had “The Works”-and boy do they mean “The Works”! Kids had sausage and bacon and we had 2 house salads. The menu is very simple, they literally only sell Pizzas & one type of salad. They did have a large selection of drinks, but we opted for ice water with lemon. Overall a lovely lunch in a pleasant atmosphere. Highly recommend

First time. Very friendly place and polite on phone. Crust was one of the best I’ve had. I need to try more combos, and I will. Price was reasonable too. Hidden gem, for me.

My second trip to Ernies and now there is no doubt of my love for this New Haven Pizza Gem. Their crunchy crust was calling me back and now I’m hooked. More airy than the superb thin crust of Sally’s and the other two pizza titans in town (Pepe’s and Modern) but just as good. Last week I waited 1 hour and fifty minutes in line at Sally’s and it was worth every minute. But variety is a spice of life. Sometimes you want to dig into a big crunchy crust done just right. And Ernies is the place to go.

We had a take away and didn’t sit inside but it looked so authentic and inviting I wish we had time to enjoy our meal inside the restaurant!

Been going here for years! Pat is consistent. One of the BEST pizzas. Everything here is great, we actually have a pizza oven and are so fussy but truly this is the best pie out there! And a great family business!

Absolutely great pizza! That’s all they sell (besides plain salad). Do one thing and do it right! Order early for pickup…it takes a while sometimes, but really worth the wait! I love the friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Don’t get me wrong – this place is busy – but without the chaos of other places.

Pizza is so good, this is one of the less popular New Haven style pizza places but one of my favorites. I recommend placing your order before you’re hungry because the wait is always long.
