Ernesto’s offers satisfactory cuisine, yet there seems to be room for improvement in terms of the service and waitstaff, which could benefit from some coaching. The ambiance within the restaurant is marred by an unpleasant odor. Over the past 8 months, I’ve visited this establishment approximately 5 times. Initially, I attributed the odor to a potential plumbing issue, but now it appears more likely to be related to inadequate cleaning practices. To avoid the disagreeable smell, we chose outdoor seating. Considering my experiences, I have no immediate plans to return to this location, as I am concerned about the cleanliness of the kitchen as well. Opting to visit the alternate McKinney location might be preferable if you wish to avoid the offensive odor and an unsatisfactory waitstaff.

Great food. Good service when it’s not busy. In fact food comes out quick. It’s hot and fresh! When they are busy it loses the quality of service. This isn’t a place that focuses on detail. It’s bare bones tex-mex that does it well. Alcoholic beverages if ordered take a while. Atmosphere isn’t special, but it delivers if you want a good decent restaurant.
