About Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria
Considered the oldest family name in Chicago pizza, Lou Malnati’s is as rich in history as its pizza is in flavor.
Lou Malnati got his start in the 1940’s working in Chicago’s first deep dish pizzeria. He took his pizza expertise to Lincolnwood, a northern suburb of Chicago, where he and his wife Jean opened the first Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria on March 17, 1971. Lou was known for his fun-loving character as well as making Chicago’s best pizza. Loyal patrons lined the streets on opening day for a taste of his delicious deep dish creations. Lou always thought it was funny that an Italian should open a pizzeria in a Jewish neighborhood on an Irish holiday.

While in Chicago we got a chance to try the Famous Lou Malnati’s Chicago deep dish pizza. They bake it like a pie with thick crust, you have to slide it out!

Pickup only spot! Arguably the best deep dish pizza in the city, and thus the planet! Can’t tell you how many times I’ve ordered from this Lou’s.

This pizza was fantastic! Truth be told, this was my first deep dish pizza, and it did not disappoint. The crust was buttery and rich but not overly thick. The sauce was chunky and full of garlic and herb flavor. We had The Lou which had layers of cheese, spinach, and mushroom, topped with thick slices of tomatoes. Four adults split a small pizza.

highly disappointed after being told this was really good. i got a thin crust cheese pizza and was told the pizza was like 9 inches. in circumference. the pizza itself was dry and had no flavor. i’m sorry it was not for me and it was not worth the $15

I ordered a deep dish Malnatis Chicago classic with extra cheese. You can barely see any cheese! $26 bucks for this pizza with no cheese!

I always enjoy their pizza. The deep dish crust is amazing. When I am in town this is one of the first places on my list to go!! There may be a better place out there but I don’t want to know.

OMG I love this pizza. I finally convinced my family to stick with the deep dish! Spinach is great but so is just cheese. The crust is pretty good. I also like that they reward frequent customers! It’s a win-win.

Used to be a great location for fresh pizza. It’s not what it used be and doubt I will be ordering from here again. I paid $30 for a Chicago Classic with bad crust and little to no sauce along with burnt cheese.
