My favorite BBQ restaurant is open again! Sadly, they closed at the height of the COVID pandemic. I was afraid I would never get to eat their incredible food again. I was so happy when I learned they were open in a new location a little further down Peoria. They actually opened back in January but somehow I didn’t know it until now.

The man at the counter was friendly but the positive part of this review stops there. This is not the spot. We spent $50 for two really bad dinners. Meat was cold. Pork lacked any flavor. Portions are small compared to your typical bbq joint for what we paid. Potato salad is cold mashed potatoes. No one was in there on a Saturday afternoon and I know why. Won’t be back.

Found out today that Elmer’s has reopened. I immediately had to stop in and bring company to share the experience! It was like Elmer’s never left and it was a trip down memory lane again. The Elmer’s trademark sandwich “Badwich” is the best experience of the flavor of meats, a rib and sides. It was good to see the same staff from the previous location still here. When you are walking along Brookside, stop in to see the Jazz memorabilia or grab some local BBQ and experience the pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff yourself. Thank you for coming back!

My uncle and I saw Elmer’s and figured we’d give it a shot, and I’m so happy we did. The beer was cold and the BBQ was GOOD. We both had brisket (because that’s what you do) and loved it so much that we went back for hot links and smoked sausage. All of it was amazing. I don’t think you can go wrong. Elmer’s is definitely on my list to visit again.

We drove about 45 minutes from Wagoner, and we stopped at 2 other BBQ joints here in Tulsa and honestly couldn’t find parking. So we kept searching and came across this gem of Tulsa tradition. Super chill vibe, great owners, very polite, blues playing soft overhead but just enough to set the mood… cause once you dig into their Barbeque… it all just comes together. I couldn’t walk out without taking a pint of their in-house made barbecue sauce.
