It was just OK. Pulled pork was mushy, ribs were good. Breakfast tray including bacon was just so-so. Chicken tenders were nothing special and overcooked. Pulled pork tacos, corn salad and turkey BLT were good but not tasty enough that I’d make an effort to come back. There are many better places for smoked food in Chicago, including my backyard. The experience wasn’t memorable though the employees were very friendly. The interior eating area should be rearranged to move more or bigger tables to the wall of open windows to maximize the view and breeze for people.

I love a good brisket sandwich and Ella’s brisket stands up against the very best I’ve had down South. Even the smaller sandwich option is a hearty meal, the meat is beautifully seasoned and very delicious. The sides are generous portions and I’m partial to the cornbread, especially with their ribs. They are great neighbors and are especially kind and supportive to the folks who work at The Lincoln Park Farmers Market every Saturday.

Disclaimer: I don’t eat meat and did not order food but my two friends did so this is based on what they ordered. First off, it’s a cute spot. You order at the counter. There’s lots of seating indoors and they have a parklet with flowers. The woman who helped us did an awesome job of describing the options and was super helpful. My friends both ordered two meat platters. She asked what sauce they wanted but ended up giving them both one of each and that’s where I come in… I tasted them all and they were delightful. I will note they had some seafood options which I loved plus a veg option. They also advertised cornbread although I didn’t see it on the menu. All in all seems like a great spot!!!

I live in the community and visit Ella’s often. Ella’s is a staple of the neighborhood and have some of the best food in lincoln park. The staff is incredibly helpful and very nice. My food is always delicious. And the best thing: their amazing barbecue sauce ! So good and definitely recommend.

I’ve been a customer of Ella’s BBQ since they first opened. I have nothing but kind words to say about the food and service there. I have been volunteering at the Lincoln Park Farmers Market across the street from Ella’s for the past two years now, and I am so happy that we have been able to form such a genuine connection with the establishment. The staff is so helpful when it comes to accepting trash from the market and feeding our vendors. On a hot day, it’s so convient to have Ella’s right across the street with refreshing drinks and smiling faces. I have never had an even so slightly negative interaction with any of the employees there (shout out Brittany!! She’s the sweetest). The food is amazing, even thinking about Ella’s right now is making me hungry.

Best dining experience yet in Chicago. Sat outside at one of the tables and Brittany was the most friendly and attentive, constantly running back and forth to make sure we had everything we needed. The food was incredibly delicious, affordable, with big portions. Can’t wait to go back.

We have not tried the BBQ but had the cheeseburger, double BLT and Nashville chicken sandwich and enjoyed them all..sandwiches come with a side – the charred corn was interesting as it was similar to Mexican elote without the mayo or chili powder. They have outdoor seating, but we ate inside their air-conditioned room due to the heat.
