Slow Hands
First thing noticed before we even sat down was the cleanliness, then the customer service both excellent. The menu was a breath of fresh air ad this business is NOT a struct Mexican restaurant as it mixes it up nicely. The fact the bar is separate from dining makes it more family friendly or at least respectfully considered. The pricing is more than reasonable and probably a bit too low given the local economy. Burrito and Torta Asada were devoured with satisfaction and the initial chips and salsa came with a very nicely season avocado sauce that was a perfect medium heat. The hostess and staff were polite, warm and sincere in providing customer service at 100%. I left one star out because it is new and I haven’t tried the dinner or breakfast menus, which if constant will be equally great. Thank you Elkoyote!

Slow service, didn’t even bring a water, 10 minutes for a bottle beer. salsa was liquid and enchiladas were very basic tasting with spoon scoop of rice that was maybe a couple days old.

Couple of hiccups in past but today we had an excellent experience for breakfast. It really seems management takes in other reviews and addresses them showing they really care. Everything was amazing. Wife got the semicolon and loved it, meat was great and all sides. Kid got the pancakes with bacon and they came out fluffy and great. I had the red chilaquiles and those were also awesome. Great flavor and spice. Prompt and friendly service as well. Can’t wait to come back and try other menu items and come back for lunch and dinner service.

A hidden gem in elko, and the food is, in my opinion, well worth the price. The bacon-wrapped shrimp with the hot sauce can’t get enough. I love to go there for breakfast, and it is always cooked the way I ask.

The place is clean and pretty bland looking as there is no art on the walls – only one plant in the corner. We got there and there was no employee in sight for several minutes. Finally, as we started to leave, we saw someone and she greeted us. I wish we had left. The food was less than desirable, but then again, I know Mexican food – that’s all my parents cooked and it’s what I learned to cook. Chips and salsa was brought to our table pretty fast; however, we were not offered water at all. After a while, the waitress stopped by to take our beverage order only. We both ordered Margaritas. They were decent, but it took her a long time to get them to us. They only had one waitress for four tables and the bar. Poor girl was running!

Only been here for breakfast so I can’t judge on lunch or dinner. The place is definitely hit or miss. It’s unfortunate because the first couple times the food has been pretty good aside from the very slow service which is understandable with only one server. The next few times have been a mess. Coffee is Luke warm. Askes for fresh coffee and it comes out just a tad warmer. Never hot. Other “hot” drinks are never hot. Not sure what the issue with drink temps are. We just stopped asking for hot drinks due to this. Complimentary chips and salsa for breakfast is odd but still munch on them. Unfortunately they are most of the time stale old chips and the salsa is mostly water and tasteless. I recommend just grabbing the good salsa from the salsa bar. This last time the food was not that great where I noticed the breakfast potatoes were a bit stale almost like reheated. Prices are decent so I definitely expect fresh food. We really want to support a local restaurant but the inconsistencies like above make it hard to. They need to put a little more effort if they want to keep customers in. I might try it again as a final try but if the same issues continue we might drop it.

Food and service were really good! Could really use some softer lighting for dinner service and some ambiance enhancements. Reasonably priced. I will go again. Maria our waitress made our visit really enjoyable,Thanks.
