Shrimp Enchiladas were listed to come with rice and beans but only received rice that was very different than flavorful Mexican rice. The rice seemed stale and mixed with some tomatoey sauce. Shrimp enchilada is just as described, there’s only cooked shrimp inside the tortilla. There’s no other seasoning or veggies mixed in there. I don’t think the enchilada sauce is restaurant made, it tastes way to tangy and processed like canned sauces. Overall, this was very disappointing and will not be going back anytime soon.

Good homestyle cooking, if a bit inconsistent. Some dishes are overly salty while others are under-seasoned. Disappointing not to get fresh lime wedges, especially with tacos. And yet the rice and beans are remarkably good, not just filler.

Great Mexican food! Stopped here after doing the Statue of Liberty tour. Was not disappointed as this place was delish. Carne asada was super tender and packed with flavor. Mole flautas were great. Carnitas bowl was huge and great. Only thing that was a little of a downer was the chips that we got with the guac were stale (guac was really fresh and good). Overall, would definitely go back.

I recommend El Toro restaurant. Food is made to order – no reheated, premade stuff here. The mole enchiladas are superb – you can taste the complex flavors of traditional spices and chocolate. Great empanadas, burritos and tortas. Polite and attentive service.

Superb, somewhat hidden, place to grab a bite of authentic Mexican food. Portion sizes are reasonable – not overwhelming, not tiny. Food tasted fresh and made with passion. Sauces were tangy and flavorful. Loaded nachos were out of this world!
