This place is absolutely horrible! The service was slow even though it wasn’t busy, the table was sticky, the sodas are flat and the food is disgusting! I got the enchiladas Verde and I couldn’t even finish it. It was so bad. Like where is the seasoning?! My boyfriend had the beef burrito with red sauce and the sauce was almost like a spaghetti sauce. So weird. I don’t know how this restaurant is still in business to be honest. Absolutely foul!! Would prefer Taco Bell over this place hands down.

This was our first time there and we came to celebrate my birthday. We expected a nice happy athmosphere and a bright beautiful interior, which usually Mexican restaurants are famous about… The walls are GREY and the overall look is very sad… just look at my pictures. Also, weird narrow tables where you cant properly fit plates. Didn’t feel clean…

Incredibly bland food lacking any salt. The service was decent but the food still came out cold and several items were gotten wrong. The walls were bland and decor was sparse and they played country music for the majority of my time there. Almost nothing is authentic about the building or the food.

My family has been coming here for years and years. We love the food and drinks. The service is always amazing and the atmosphere as well! I really appreciate the vegetarian and pescatarian menu they offer! Everything about this restaurant is amazing !!

Mathew is an excellent server. Music and ambiance made up for the food which isn’t taste very authentic.

Ordered tacos and burritos found the taste to be authentic but I prefer more of the Tex-mex style Mexican. The black refried beans were the most impressive part of the meal the chicken burrito had nothing on it which was surprising it was chicken in a wrap no vegetables or anything.

Amalia was our server (& the bartender) when we visited. We had so many “tourist” questions & she was very attentive & helpful. She looked into the T routes that we would need for the places that we wanted to visit. She was just a complete gem!!! Will definitely return when we can!!!!

This place was overpriced and did not have good food. Half of the food was cold by the time it got to our table, the chips and most of the food was not salted, and the drinks tasted like there was no tequila at all and did not include the price of drinks on the menu ( $12 for the house marg, $15 for the coconut)

I’ve been coming to El Sarape for years as I grew up in the area. Once I moved away & became vegan I was in anticipation to see how it would be to eat here and let me just say, I’m blown away!!! The drinks are excellent (as always) and the food was delicious! Lots of vegetarian options that can easily be made vegan. Staff was friendly and helpful and I really enjoy the recent addition of outdoor seats! Definitely come here for a great night! And dear El Sarape, I love you, please make your rice vegetarian/vegan friendly!! 🙂
