I knew I was going to love this place when I heard Frontera music blasting out of the kitchen when we walked in. It’s a hole in the wall and the interior is super dated but staff is super friendly and their food is on point (for San Antonio). I definitely recommend trying their Breakfast and Dinner plates.

First of all you have no idea who your server is, three people come up and ask for your drink and order until someone actually brings it. They gave me the wrong drink twice and thought just an off day. 20 minutes go by and my two tacos for breakfast weren’t ready and I wait another 5 and just decided that is way too long of a wait for breakfast tacos. As I get up to pay for my drink one of the girls comes out of kitchen with my tacos. I’m starving so I figure I can scarf them down in 5 minutes. Tacos were cold, not luke warm, cold. I tell her to touch them and she’s like I can have them remade…and wait what another 25 minutes. No thanks. Get your restaurant in check

We tried to visit a Cafe a couple of feet next to this restaurant on Saturday day morning. The Google Maps hours said it was open but when we arrived around 7:45AM it was closed. We decided to try this place. Very nice staff and food was yummy! It was meant to be! It’s a small restaurant so I can see where there might be a wait for rush hour times. My husband ordered huevos rancheros with barbacoa and a side of bacon. Sounded so good so I asked for the same thing. I added a waffle to try it out and tasted like cake ♡. Coffee was good as well! The ranchera sauce was on the side and it was very good when added to our eggs. It was a lot of food for me that I made a bean and cheese with bacon taco and a barbacoa and potatoes taco with my leftovers and we ate it later in the day. The atmosphere was very friendly and we will definitely be back.

I have to admit with all the options, shame on my for forgetting this local Tex-Mex right in my Momma’s back yard. El Rodeo is a delightful surprise. Some truly fresh homemade salsa with many options Rojo, Verde and Guacamole. My Fajitas Texana were great. Fresh grilled, lightly seasoned, nice mix of shrimp, beef and chicken. Best part light on oil. My plate was $11 and had enough meat for 4 tortillas. I recommend their handmade corn ! Great price, prompt service, piping hot in just a few minutes. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed!

The food was good, and the service was great! But the only thing is that they charge extra for breakfast tacos made after 11 a.m. which kinda sucks if you aren’t a morning person or your kids only like bean and cheese tacos or chorizo and egg tacos. Other than that, it’s good hoping to go back soon.

The food was good but my to go order was wrong. When I called to tell them, Betty the manager said I had to one back same day or I could not get a replacement taco. When I came back the next day because I had to work that night, Betty acted like she hadn’t spoken to me and would not honor the replacement taco. Such a shame they lost me as a customer but I refuse to interact with that smug manager named Betty ever again!!!!

HORRIBLE customer service. If I could give 0 stars, I would. First off, we were told that “We only serve Mexicans here.” We are Mexican. Second, we do not live in the area but were running errands and thought we should order some tacos for pickup. When we returned home, we noticed that my nephew’s food was missing. When we had called the restaurant they had told us we could come pick it up. Again, we do not live in the area so we were upset that we had to drive all the back to Helotes for a single meal. No compensation was offered whatsoever because they had forgotten a part of the meal nor were we given anything for our troubles. After expressing our disappointment with the service we haa received, we were asked to never return to the restaurant. No disturbance to anyone (customers and workers) was made, only feedback of poor service, but still we have been asked to never return. Not like we wanted to either way

They close at 2200 not 2300 seven days a week. Arrived at 2145. To go orders only. I get it they want to go home. The beans and rice were pretty good as was the carne guizada. The enchiladas sucked! The salsa was decent. There was a huge cockroach by the counter. The staff wasn’t overly concerned about it. My daughter was kind of shocked at their lack of urgency when there was a 1” cockroach walking across their floor. I won’t be back.

First time coming here. Food was super delicious and great. Staff were very friendly and great service. The only negative thing was that they charge for anything extra, even a to-go foam plate. Never heard of any place charging you extra for that.
