El Rey Mexican Grill was started in 2015 when the culmination of hard work and a dream merged. Our founder Mr. Cienfuegos worked hard for many years in the back of kitchens learning the ins and outs from dishwasher to waiting tables. Since a young age, Mr. Cienfuegos has had a passion for business, and after years of apprenticeship, he took a leap of faith and opened our first location in Fontana, CA. A city densely populated by many restaurants. However, our commitment to providing authentic Mexican food that is rooted in family traditions and recipes has proven to validate our place in the restaurant industry for the last seven years and counting. We hope to keep serving you for many more years to come!

Delicious, authentic Mexican food. They had 4 different kinds of salsa and all 4 were perfectly different and tasty. The chips were fresh too. I had the birria tacos and my husband had the asada street tacos with rice and beans. We both were completely satisfied and can’t wait to go back. Our server was very attentive and helpful with my questions about the menu. If you want real authentic Mexican food, this is the place to go!

I use to love this place…then, they charged me $10.00 for 2cans of diet coke. done. (this is after I ordered 2 orders of rolled tacos). This was like saying “don’t come back”. sad…but ok.

Came here with my boyfriend! It was delicious! We ordered the asada fries and 3 different tacos (carnitas, lengua, and Birria). The tacos were all good but the Birria and carnitas stood out! The asada fries were cheesy and delicious! I appreciate the size of the serving! We also got a berry drink that the woman who took our order recommended. That was so tasty and refreshing! This place was so good but then it gets better! Along with the different salsas they have to offer, they also have complimentary tortilla chips and beans! We will be back! Yummy!

Food is a bit different, not bad but not what is expected from a SoCal taco shop. Cali burrito had almost no fries, nearly no cheese, no sour cream, and a whole lot of what seemed like very oily shredded beef, the taste of the beef was alright but that’s not a Cali burrito in any way. A true Cali burrito should be carne asada, fries, cheese, sour cream and guacamole (they also add rice and beans, not sure why, we requested without).

Food was good. I like authentic mexican food and disliked the tripa tacos. They where sliced, not whole and it didn’t taste the same. I do want to go back and try the birria because I heard that’s what they sre known for. They have a little bar area small selection of draft beers that doesn’t disappoint in my opinion. Great custmer service and clean environment. Lengua tacos where great. So I’m hopeful for birria.

Excellent authentic Mexican tacos. Got the veggie burrito, burrito bowl with birria, and taco with nopal. All of it was delicious and their salsas were also really tasty. Would absolutely recommend!!

Waited a long time for it to finally open and it wasn’t worth it. The place looks great, I liked the green salsa, my order took forever (30 min. For 3 tacos) and it was disappointing. My dib son’s fish taco, had the smallest amount of fish I have ever seen and TONS of cabbage. I asked for my money back and thankfully their customer service was great but I’m never going back there again. Too expensive for poor quality, what a shame.

The food is excellent, i will give 4⭐ because the service is slow and the bathrooms where close for the entire hour we stay there, but otherwise everything is perfect the place is very clean, the birria is delicious and i love the buffet with all the tipes of salsas, lemons, tortillas chips and beans soup, prices are pretty reasonable. definitely will back.
