My rule of thumb is, if the chips and salsa are good the food will follow and that has always been true. Awesome chips n salsa. I had chicken enchiladas with their sauce = excellent, rice and beans rocked it. My wife had pork carnitas and she said it was good too. Margarita’s were great! Awesome staff, highly recommend going.

I had the Tortilla Soup. It was outstanding. The broth was excellent, great crunch from small bits of sweet onion and best of all, not the over salted recipe at many restaurants. This soup gets it’s great flavor from all the fresh tasting ingredients, didn’t need a bunch unhealthy salt. Highly recommended.

I called El Portón to see if they could accommodate a group of 40 in about 30 minutes. We had a hungry track team that had just won the state championship and had an appetite like a Sasquatch. They had tables ready for us with chips and salsa and the staff was super nice. The food was really good and we had a wonderful time celebrating there.

Right as we sat down we got a call to pickup our son from school. The server made our order to go and brought out chips as water anyways. The food was great and the portions were more than enough. On top of that, it was very affordable in comparison to a lot of other places nearby. We will definitely coming back for the full sit down experience.
