I stopped in with a group of guys for lunch while we were out on a motorcycle ride and had a steak quesadilla and a pop. Pop was a little flat. The service we had was ok at best. I’ve been to a lot of mexican restaurants and had so much better it hard not to compare. I’m not saying it was bad. I just wouldn’t eat here again personally.

Really love this gem of a downtown restaurant. Greeted with fresh salsa and chips is always a great treat. The food was hot and fresh. Fresh tamales, chicken taquitos and taco salad were filling and tasty. Can’t wait to go back.

OK, this is not even fair to any other breakfast places I’ve eaten at so far. Its kind of unfair since I’m such a huge fan of mexican food. El Mexican has one of the best breakfast burritos I’ve ever tasted and their salsa is second to none. I’m not a homefry guy and i couldn’t get enough of their homefries. They do serve alcohol in the mornings. Definitely try the breakfast de daysayuno or the chilaquiles. Neither will disappoint. I’ve found my new favorite mexican place and it’s in downtown Hastings!!!

Breakfast menu is fantastic with great selection. I highly recommend the chiliquilles. Coffee was great and loved it out of their special mugs. Service was warm and friendly and the overall menu selection offers a range of traditional Tex-mex items and a few things you typically can’t find anywhere else.

I recently moved to Hastings for the first time in February. Whenever I move to a new town, I search for my go-to safe haven mexican restaurant where I can feel comfortable surrounded by my culture. In hastings, this is it for me.

Had a delicious margarita…cute clay pot glass but overpriced. Complimentary chips were in a small plastic basket. Only 2 per table then you have to pay. That didn’t seem right, either. I had chicken quesidillas… they were pretty good. They were served with rice and beans and they were ok. Pretty bland IMO. I was disappointed overall…

Outstanding breakfast. The soup de marsales leaves a little to be desired. The shrimp in the soup has tails that you have to get your hands soupy to remove. It has the right amount of spice but little to no actual flavor. Enchiladas are alright.

Place is gross. Food has zero flavor. Service was below low here. We had to wait almost 40 minutes between the times we would see our waitress. Do not eat here.

Food was amazing! Our waiter was David P. Very helpful, saw to all of our dining needs, was friendly and always had a smile on his face. Great value and again the food was delicious!
