Authentic Mexican food is a fine art, so I often jump at the chance to eat at an authentic looking Mexican restaurant when I find it. El Mesquite ticked all the right boxes when we were in Pulaski, recently. The atmosphere was authentic, with lots of seating, good lighting, and plenty of help on the floor. I was really excited to get seated and to look over the menu – unfortunately, things went downhill, from there.

It was not busy when we came to eat lunch so it was nice and quiet.

Great little place. Food for money beats many other places, even Taco Bell. The 2 of us ate for less than $30 after tip. And had enough for leftovers next day.

I am not sure where the good reviews come from but this is by far the worst Mexican restaurant I’ve ever been to. I ordered the seafood chimichanga that is supposed to have shrimp and crab meat in it. Well, there might have been one whole shrimp in this disgusting thing. No crab whatsoever! They brought out two wimpy little chimichangas full of rice and refried beans and one chopped up shrimp piece, a plate full of rice and more refried beans and lettuce. Absolute garbage and a complete ripoff. I wish I’d gone to the restaurant that looked more appealing. I might have gotten some decent food. This place sure wasn’t anything special and the food was unappetizing and boring and not what I ordered.

Service was great, but the chill relleno me and another of our party had was both soggy and undercooked. The breading was also soggy. I’m hoping it was just an off day.

Excellent food. Ordered a single order beef fajita for ten bucks. It was perfect. Can’t recommend everything but I can definitely say that the beef fajitas is worth the trip. Not overly spicy but certainly not bland. Good customer service and excellent prices. What more can be said? If you’re in the area you should give it a try.

I will change the star to 5 star when you get pepsi products and stay open later then 130pm for the buffet cause not alot people can make it before 130pm .please consider staying open up on your buffet until 3pm at least and get mountain dews and pepsi products I would most certainly come to this one all the time I eat out

Got the #9 special with 2 shredded chicken tacos with rice n beans. My buddy got the steak fajitas. Mine was good, just nothing that made me want to race back. The fajitas hardly at any meat or anything.

In an old dying shopping center… place blended in perfectly. I have had worse but far from the best. Good enough for a quick lunch while it riding.
