I personally have been dining at El meson for about three months now and I can tell you at this restaurant-hands down the BEST service I’ve ever had in freehold. I love the atmosphere the decor is unique and traditional and my favorite desert is the fried ice cream! The staff here go above and beyond for you they are fast and attentive. Izzy the manager is super friendly and accommodating. The service is better than el Agave here!

The servers are attentive. The atmosphere is cute. The food is ample but for me it’s “ok” I’m expecting flavor and it lacked it.Make no mistake the portions are huge. I also have a personal pet peeve the use of Fabuloso while eating its just a very strong smell.

Love this place!! I am a long time customer and the quality has been great throughout the years. The wait staff is super charismatic and make the experience pleasurable. The specials on the weekends are something to look forward to. The young hostess is such a pleasure and makes a great first point of contact. If you get the chance sit outside, they offer beautiful scenery and just is a great place to get together.

They don’t have liquor license. We were looking for Mexican food on Cinco de Mayo. And stop at this location. There was a bit of a wait due to it being a holiday. The food was mediocre. The fajitas came with broccoli and carrots which was odd. I can recommend fajitas combo u only get 2 strips of steak that don’t even add up to a quarter of a normal size steak. The food wasn’t seasoned well.

El Meson is one of Freehold’s go to mexican place. I didn’t have high hopes but the enchilada’s with salsa verde were better than I thought. The chips with salsa were standard. The outdoor seating was expansive if you want to dine outside. Everything was surprisingly decent and I would come back.

It’s the most cute restaurant I’ve ever been in! There are hanging sombreros on the light fixture and little cute rugs on the table. Walking in here my first thought was this would be the perfect Mexican food date night! The food however really didn’t hit the spot. I highly recommend ordering from the special menu as it’s more traditional Mexican and less Americanized. However the atmosphere from the workers was very nice, light, and friendly! Fresh salsa and home made chips are also served on the table for free!*****

First the service was good. However food is not authentic Mexican. I had a fajita combo and I have never seen fajitas come with broccoli, carrots and cauliflower. The prices are way too expensive for the food being served. I ordered a queso fundido for an appetizer which cost $16 and it was the most oily cheese I had a have eaten, definitely not what I was expecting. It had a nice vibe but will not be returning or recommending this restaurant to anyone.
