This is what I consider to be the standard for Mexican food everywhere. I am an avid fan of Hispanic cuisine, and often seek it out wherever I go. This restaurant has by FAR the best frozen margaritas in at least the state of Indiana. As a matter of fact, have never had better. The food is top notch in both quality and portion, and they don’t overfill their dishes with lettuce or other ways to rip you off like I had seen very frequently at other Mexican places. I have been to this place more than any other restaurant in my life, and have only had ONE somewhat negative experience with staffing when they were extremely short staffed after franchising. All of this, for also the best VALUE I’ve ever seen at a restaurant in general. This is the pinnacle of Mexican cuisine in Indiana (at the bare minimum).

Best value in Mexican food in the region their prices are very reasonable. Their flavor is authentic. The interior design and decor of the place really set it apart from other restaurants. Beautiful murals of the Mexican mountainside cover the walls along with stuffed and painted animals. Good music and attentive staff top it off.

When the right cook is in the kitchen, I love El Jimador! Unfortunately, there is some inconsistency with the quality of the food. We’ll visit the restaurant and the food will be fantastic, but the next time we visit, it will be horrible! I wish I could find out in advance which chef is cooking that day! The decor is nice and comfortable. The restaurant is clean. The service is also inconsistent. On one visit we’ll have great service, but on the next visit the service could be slow. I wish we could count on this restaurant for great food and great service every time, but that isn’t the case. We still visit this restaurant on a regular basis, but we do so with the understanding that we may leave disappointed.

My husband and I always enjoy the place for our Mexican food cravings. I get the enchiladas and he gets the combo plate. They make food the way my mom used to make it for our family. So good.

My husband ordered the pineapple fajitas, the presentation is tantalizing. Looked delicious, He didn’t leave a bit behind. I ordered a steak burrito simple but the steak was dry and it had a lot of fat in it. Either it was over cooked or just not a good quality of meat. The salsa and chips were waterey and more of soupy. Some people may like it that way.

Nice place. Open table seating but plenty of space between tables. Server was great. One person had a special request due to diet restrictions and the server was attentive and had the meal properly prepared. We had a group of 7.

Sat down quickly, attentive waitresses to get drinks. Got drinks. Cut to 45 minutes later, we finally get food. Took forever. Basically wandered through the small shops in the plaza for a half hour, cam back and STILL waited. This being said, the food was SO FRICKING GOOD! Holy cow! Their burrito was amazing. The wait was worth it, but still irritating. The staff was pleasant and attentive through and through. Overall, 5 stars. Not their fault they were busy.

I’ve been here a few times and the food has been consistently good, the prices are reasonable and the service is usually pretty good. Hopefully it stays good and I haven’t jixed it by leaving a good review.

My wife and I have a problem…we’ve lived in LoFS for 4 years. We’ve never even given this place any thought because we had our favorite Mexican food place. Finally we decided to try a carry out. And OMFG!!!! We have sorely been missing out on this hidden (not so hidden) gem! First order I got the combo burrito (steak and pork) dinner and quite a few different tacos to try the meats. Hands down the Lengua was amazing. The steak tacos are delicious too. I was not a fan of the chicken though. And not that it’s bad I just don’t prefer chicken meat. The combo burrito steak and pork if a great mixture. And it’s friggin HUGE! Rice and beans taste very good too. We had zero complaints and both said this hands down was better than our normal place.
