Tacos tacos and more tacos. The AL Pastor was my favorite. But there were several tacos on the menu I just didn’t have room to try. The bar service was fine but they’d do better if they had full service wait staff. We’d have stayed longer & ordered more if we didn’t have to wait in line everytime we wanted more.

Food was great!! Drinks were great! No table service as you order at the counter then they bring it out to you. Great for young families wanting an easy exit. Even saw some wildlife from our table.

No flying piggy, sad. One taco $9! Ouch.

We visited Angelfire on a recent vacation and this was one of the surprisingly best places we ate at. Smallish but quick food service. Good beers on tap and drinks. Was good to see the mountain bikers coming in after their rides.

Awesome site. Great view. Food was fine, not great, but fine; there are almost no places to eat in Angel Fire during the summer. They are stingey with umbrellas; lots of tables … few umbrellas! Not great when it’s hot as heck. I asked, but they did not have any more.

In Angel Fire, Father’s Day and most holidays prove hard to find an open restaurant. We were more than grateful El Jefe’s was open. The service was great, we usually dine there and people are awesome. Atmosphere is also awesome. I was disappointed in the ratio of chicken to tortilla in their tacos. The ratio would prove a $3.00 taco instead of a $9 taco. You might reconsider the amount of food you serve for your value. My husband ordered a taco salad. He asked for no beans. There had been beans placed in the bowl but removed leaving bean residue. His lettuce was small bits with no larger pieces. The bits were soggy. They did replace his order so I guess it worked out well. The brisket in the salad was excellent and my Wagyu burger cooked well done was awesome. Our Churros were awesome. We will be back and hopefully the lettuce crisper and we will try to avoid ordering tacos but the rest of the food was great. Great guacamole, great salsa. Great atmosphere watching bicyclists come down the mountain. And most of all, great people.

I wish they were open for dinner, but if you’re on the mountain, it’s a great stop during or after. I adore their taco salads, and their margaritas do not disappoint. If you’re at Angel Fire, it’s a must eat.

Varied menu, good drink options, and plenty of seating. Pricing is consistent for an on-mountain restaurant. Also, after the COVID restrictions, they only have 2 tables available inside. Kind of a tough situation…
