This is a fun place to sit outside and enjoy a Mexican meal! It is family owned, and the people behind the counter were so friendly and accommodating. The menu isn’t extensive, but it’s great food for a great value.

Great people bad great food. Authentic Mexican restaurant with great salsa, tacos, burritos, and more. Mexican coke with pure sugar cane as well. Dine in or take out. Great for locals and visitors alike.

We were visiting Alpine in October, and wanted to find a patio to have dinner. We happened upon a little hole in the wall that turned out to be a gem. I would classify this as more of a food truck experience. You order from a window and they bring you your food in to-go containers. The menu is small, the patio is more of a covered, dusty yard, but the food was awesome! The girl at the window was sweet and funny and gave us her recommendations, which we ordered and we were not disappointed.

Stopped in to grab a quick lunch. Very friendly and the food was great. Nice little patio seating setup. Highly recommended if you’re passing through and the weather is good enough to eat under the shade

We were craving good, authentic Mexican food – and boy am I glad we came here! Limited menu, and a number of things weren’t available because we came later in the day, but everything we got was amazingly tasty! Chicken floutas, asado burrito and three different types of soft tacos (with rice and beans). Mmmm. We also got three freshly made flan to go. The seating is very basic and only outside in “the garden” and there’s not much for atmosphere, but the owner lady was very nice, and so were some of the other guests we talked to…. Gotta love the small spots with big taste!

The best fish tacos I have had anywhere. My husband tries the fish tacos nearly everywhere we go. We have had them in San Antonio, Austin, Houston, a hindered other little town across Texas, and many places out of state and these were by far the best we have ever had.

This place is so good, I ordered just a bean and cheese burrito, but the lady told me she made fresh chile rellanos. which I don’t usually eat cooked peppers (I’m crazy picky). Between me not entirely understanding what she offered and feeling bold, I got one wrapped in the bean and cheese burrito I ordered initially. AMAZING!

Hands down the best Mexican food in Alpine,TX. This little gem is nestled behind the historic Valadez Home/Store at the intersection of 5th and Murphy. We tried the flautas, fish tacos, enchiladas verdes con pollo, a carne asado burrito, flan and their agua fresca of the day which was mango/pineapple/orange. Each item was superb, made with fresh ingredients and prepared when ordered. There was a little bit of a wait but I am happy to wait for fresh, delicious food. Under a canopy were a few tables available for outdoor seating. The area was clean and comfortable and there were restroom facilities on site. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, accommodating and hardworking. I will definitely be back and highly recommend El Jardin. It was so good I forgot to take pictures!
