Very thankful to finally have a legit Mexican restaurant in town! Food is excellent, big portions, and phenomenal salsas and sauces (“hot” means HOT here, not “Midwestern Scandinavian” hot). If your usual “Mexican” joint is on Washington Ave, you owe it to yourself to come down here and find out what ACTUAL Mexican food tastes like!

Wonderful food and was enthusiastically welcomed as we entered the establishment. We arrived early and the place filled up quickly as time passed. The greeter (perhaps owner) knew most of those who came in by their first name. Limited drink selection with no beer but that wasn’t a deal killer for me. The food was well prepared and served very quickly. Great job and thanks to the owner.

The food here is excellent and the prices are low. In terms of cost-to-portion ratio, this is one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten at. Their steak burrito is amazing with both red and green sauce.

Great homemade food at a great price. Orlando and his family are top notch. Always a pleasure to visit and try the new menu items. Keep up the great food and spirit! UPDATE: new menu items, keeping the menu fresh. The street corn is a must! UPDATE: May 20th, New location in the old Erbert and Gerbert shop. Fresh new look and still the best Mexican food in town. UPDATE: July 1st, still the best Mexican in town. Freshly made, packed with flavor and not the standard boring food from the rest of restaurants in town. It’s a must try. AUG 12th, love the taco specials on Tuesdays and Fridays, great idea!

Did not honor their “99 cent beef tacos” on Friday. Allegedly the tacos are 99 cents on Friday, which make me eager to try this place. Unfortunately, five tacos came up to about $14. Something definitely doesn’t add up. Some other people in line noticed this with their orders as well. The tacos were kinda good though.

So good! The most authentic Mexican you’ll find in the Midwest. Food is always amazing and surprisingly filling. You can expect a 5-30min wait depending on how busy they are and what you order – but everything is worth the wait. Definitely one of my favorite places for lunch.

Best authentic Mexican food in town. It’s not like the other “Americanized-Mexican” stuff in town. Tacos, tortas, burritos; you just can’t go wrong! The salsa verde is money! Charra’s is a close second for different reasons!

Hands down the best Mexican in Grand Forks, and probably the state. Their meats are always fresh and juicy, ingredients are well picked, and their salsas hot and full of flavor. Rough around the edges, but all the best restaurants usually are. Staff is always super friendly.

Delicious food and amazing, friendly staff! I highly recommend a burrito, but they have an excellent selection of Mexican dishes. The new location doesn’t have a ton of seating, so it can get tough to find a seat during the lunch rush. But they do have a drive thru now, so it’s easy to get food to go.

This locally owned place has the best, most authentic Mexican food in town! They make everything fresh from scratch and it is so full of flavor. I love getting my tamale fix here and have fallen in love with the popusas, so good! Burritos are HUGE so you will definitely have leftovers. Tacos are also amazing, they do Birria tacos on occasion but they sell out FAST!!
