Great dinner or lunch spot. Staff is friendly and efficient. Restaurant was clean, had music playing at a decent level.

The food was great, but we had to flag down the waiter every time we had to order or needed something, even the bill when we were done. The bloody marry was good, too.

I think the food here is pretty good, and the atmosphere is nice and the service is above par. My problem is that the portions were smaller than most Mexican restaurants and the prices were much higher than most Mexican restaurants. I think a two-item combination plate for more than $12 is too much. I think it was ¢15.95 here for a smallish Tamale and a small Relleno with scant portions of rice and beans. There was once a restaurant called El Charro in Sacramento near where the Sacramento Union was published and it was the best Mexican food I’ve ever had. I was hoping that this place would bring back fond memories.

Ordered Menudo and was very satisfied with the flavor and the hand made tortillas on point.. definitely coming back

Enjoyed the authentic Mexican food and friendly staff. Service was quick and efficient. Atmosphere (to me) is a little too Bright in the main room. Bar room lighting is much better. Almost Cafeteria-Like. Perhaps Dimmer lights would make the restaurant feel more warm and inviting. Over all, I love the food at El Charros.

El charro is located in downtown historic woodland. Great chips and salsa, and the food is always fresh. There is plenty of parking on the street and side streets. Outdoor seating is available that is great to enjoy a nice meal and to people watch at the same time. Full bar and good drink specials. The mango shooters are my wife’s favorite.

Accidentally found this restaurant when driving through Woodland. What excellent mexican food! Homemade tortillas, fresh and delicious mole made every day! The service was outstanding. We’ll be driving the hour to get here for our next hankering for true Mexican food.

Taco and enchilada was really good! Drinks menu had a good selection, the aguachile my wife ordered wasn’t so good possibly under cooked to her liking but I shared my meal and made the day again .

Was not crowded in a Saturday night. The salad needed salt and extra salsa. It was ok. My brother had the schrimp burrito he really liked it.

Very enjoyable meal. The wet burrito was yummo! Had a fantastic double date here on a road trip to Tahoe.
