Such an innovative way to make togo birria tacos – the imprint of the liquid container on the taco can only be achieve with this unparalleled technique of cooking the tacos in the microwave. No having to wait for the comal to heat cooking in the BPA lined container with the science oven – chef Mic FTW!

This was my first time coming to this location and I was very pleased. I’ve been to the Powhatan location about 3 times. My boyfriend and I came here on Cinco de Mayo and were told it was a 50 minute wait. They gave us buzzers so we were able to wait in the car. Once we were seated everything was so smooth and prompt. I definitely think the staff was well prepared for the crowd because all of our food came out quickly!

Well I didn’t take any pictures of our food, but we ate every bit of it. We started with the simple white cheese dip. For us, it was the perfect consistency. Not watery and not lumpy and thick. The table salsa was low spice. Not bad as there is a whole salsa bar that is available with a variety of flavors and heat. We tried the guacamole salsa and creamy jalapeño. Very good!

No chips with to go order. We had to go all the way back to the restaurant to get them. My fajitas were VERY bland. I’m currently recooking them at home trying to add some type of flavor. My daughter’s street tacos were good. I don’t think I’ll return though.

I want to start this out by saying that I have eaten at this restaurant since it opened in. I have been to both locations Powhatan and Midlothian. So I was really disappointed by the service my husband I received recently. We both ordered taco salads and we live in Williamsburg and they usually don’t do tomatoes there. My husband is allergic to certain types of tomatoes so we told the waitress that we were really sorry (because we were. She said “I have to throw this food away now.” She had a nasty attitude. I understand not wanting to waste for but it was completely by accident that we didn’t mention his tomato allergy. I was so disappointed that we got up and left. It is totally disrespectful to make someone feel bad about an allergy. I have never had an issue here I am not sure if I will go back which sucks because this has always been my favorite Mexican restaurant. GOOD customer service goes a long way.
