Was excited to try this restaurant, more so, because of the one that was there previous. (Which was my favorite go to mexican restaurant, but it closed down.) The staff was attentive courteous and helpful. The establishment itself was clean. The food was, not so much. The presentation of the tortilla soup was disappointing upon arrival. Its flavor was fishy and oily, making the taste quite displeasing. (I sent it back and ordered a simple rice and beans plate) The softshell corn tortillas for the ground beef tacos were super greasy and almost raw looking, and the filling was rather flavorless. The rice did taste good. The margaritas were strong in tequila but did not taste good, so much so that I chose not to drink mine. Overall, it was a disappointing experience. The likelihood of a return visit is probably slim to none.

Hospitality is beyond the best and that was just the beginning. A coworker highly recommend this restaurant. I MUST say this will be a forever favorite. Coming from Los Angeles where there is a variety to choose from, this El Agave definitely will be our new favorite place to eat. Food is so authentic, so fresh it is beyond delicious and the absolute best, just next to perfection. The food was nostalgic tasted just like my mothers cooking. The absolute Best,BEST,BEST & must try in the tri cities. Location has dine in and very clean. Music playing was so upbeat & great, it felt like my apá was present when Ramon Ayala’s song came on. Come check them out I highly recommend but don’t just take my word, try it for yourself.

A true taste of México. Walking in and hearing the same mariachi music that my grandparents would play was a good omen. Both my meal and the service I had was exquisite. I would absolutely dine here again! They also have live sports, making this a great place for Monday night football, or any other sports game!

Our family ate here last night because of the high reviews, and we didn’t receive the same type of food yall loving apparently because my husband and I agreed the food tasted old and dry. Was mediocre. Disappointed because we paid a lot of money ($75) for 2 plates of food and a drink to share. The service was quick but I don’t recommend this place. And we won’t be coming back here.

Everything I ate was just right. The salsa was thick and chunky, and had a nice spice to it without being too hot. I ordered the chile verde. It was tender and the sauce was just right. It was delicious. I was very pleased with my meal. I wish I had taken pictures.

Limited parking. Difficult access for handicapped. Food was about average Mexican fare. Atmosphere was a little lacking. Service was great. This would be good for a fast lunch. There was a full bar available too.

This place was terrible!! Dingy, dank…the menu alone had a ton of blacked out items. No Dos Equis beer. They never replenished the basket of cold, stale chips & their salsa was over cilantroed!! Yeah, that’s a thing!! Margarita was a weak pour and in a dirty glass!! Never again!! ☹️
